AIMIM president Asaduddin Owaisi squarely criticized the Pakistan Army Chief Field Marshal Asim Munir's threats to India on Tuesday and urged the Modi government to bring the issue to the notice of the United States.
The Hyderabad MP commented on the social media site 'X,' denouncing the aggressive rhetoric of the Pakistan Army Chief.
Pakistan Army Chiefs threats & rhetoric against India are condemnable. That he has done it on the US soil makes it even worse. It should be met with a Political response by the Modi government & not this MEA statement, Government should register their protest and bring up the matter with US strongly," Owaisi wrote.
He also reiterated, "India being strategic partner this abuse of American soil is unacceptable to Indians and India. Knowing Pakistan's military ambitions here we need to modernize our military. The meager defence allocation by Modi Government can't go on any more. We must prepare better."
The threats were made during an off-the-record meeting with the Pakistani expatriates in Tampa, Florida, on Saturday, where Asim Munir allegedly warned, "We are a nuclear nation. If we feel we are going down, we'll take half the world down with us," reports said.
India reacted sternly to Munir's comments, sending a strong message that nuclear blackmail will not be accepted. The Ministry of External Affairs declared that all measures that are required will be adopted in order to safeguard national security.
"Our notice has been taken by comments apparently given by the Pakistani Chief of Army Staff during a trip to the United States. Nuclear sabre-rattling is Pakistan's staple.". The world community can reach its own conclusions regarding the irresponsibility of making such statements, which also reinforce the genuine misgivings over the integrity of nuclear command and control within a country where the armed forces are hand-in-glove with terror organizations," MEA spokesperson Randhir Jaiswal said in an official statement.
