Toxic levels rise in Delhi air, experts warn of respiratory issues

On Tuesday morning, the national capital's Air Quality Index was recorded at 339 under the "very poor" category, according to the System of Air Quality and Weather Forecasting and Research (SAFAR). Speaking to IANS, Professor Gufran Beig, Founder Project Director of SAFAR, said that the current ratio of PM2.5 to PM10 is above 60 per cent which indicates that fine particles are high in abundance and hence a relatively high level of toxicity is prevailing.

A five-judge constitution bench headed by Justice S.A. Nazeer and comprising Justices B.R. Gavai, A.S. Bopanna, V. Ramasubramanian, and B.V. Nagarathna, delivered the verdict. "Cold, dry weather with partly cloudy sky is expected in J&K and Ladakh during the next 24 hours," said an official of the MeT department. Srinagar had minus 4.4, Pahalgam minus 7.2 and Gulmarg minus 9.2 degrees Celsius as the minimum temperature. In Ladakh region, Drass had minus 20.8, Kargil minus 17.2 and Leh minus 14 as the minimum temperature.

The IMD has predicted cold wave conditions over the northern states for the next few days, while dense to very dense fog is also expected over the plains in northwest India in the same period. Due to the cold wave and foggy conditions, visibility in many areas in the national capital remained poor on Tuesday. Around 21 Delhi-bound trains were reported to be running late owing to the poor visibility.
Family of woman dragged to death asks why there were no clothes on her body

"She was wearing so many clothes, but not a single piece of cloth was there on her dead body. What kind of accident was it? The police are not showing us her body properly. I want justice for my daughter," said the mother of the victim, who was killed in the horrific incident on the outskirts Delhi when she was dragged for about 12 km, from Sultanpuri to Kanjhawala, after her clothes got entangled in the wheel of the car which hit the Scooty she was driving.
