National Herald case: Sonia at ED office, questioning underway
Sonia Gandhi wrote her name and signed the ED's register. She reached the ED headquarters accompanied by Rahul Gandhi and Priyanka Gandhi Vadra. A few minutes later Rahul Gandhi left the ED office while Priyanka remained at the headquarters and had a medicine box for her mother. Her questioning, which was scheduled to take place on June 23, was postponed on her request as she was not keeping well.

Fire on-board INS Vikramaditya, no casualties
The incident occurred during a planned sortie for conducting sea trials of the aircraft carrier. Upon noticing the blaze, the ship crew immediately launched fire fighting operation using the ship's fire-fighting systems and the conflagration was brought under control. No casualties were reported in the incident. The Indian Navy has set up a board of enquiry to probe the incident.

Sharpshooters Rupa, Manu involved in killing of Moosewala shot dead
They were holed up inside a farmhouse and were eliminated in a five hours of exchange of fire. One AK-47 rifle and one pistol were recovered from the encounter site. Moosewala was gunned down on May 29 close to his native village near Mansa in Punjab. The operation was carried out by the Anti-Gangster Task Force at Bhakna village close to the Attari border, where Manpreet Singh, a.k.a. Manu, and Jagroop Singh, a.k.a. Rupa, were holed up.
SC grants bail to Zubair, says 'power of arrest should be used sparingly'
A bench headed by Justice D.Y. Chandrachud said: "There is no reason for deprivation of liberty of the petitioner...to be released on interim bail in each FIR (UP FIRs)...power of arrest should be used sparingly..." The bench said SIT constituted by the Uttar Pradesh government, to investigate the UP FIRs, is rendered redundant and is disbanded.

Intruder from Pakistan crossed border with 11-inch knife to kill Nupur Sharma, say Rajasthan cops
The Pakistan national, identified as Rizwan Ashraf, crossed the border on July 16 at around 11 p.m. Many suspicious items have also been found from his possession, which includes an 11-inch sharp knife. A joint team of intelligence agency Intelligence Bureau (IB), Research and Analysis Wing (RAW) and the Military Intelligence Agency interrogated him.
ED arrests ex-Mumbai Police Commissioner in PMLA case
ED wants to confront Ramkrishna with Pandey. During the confrontation, the ED would record the statements of both Ramkrishna and Pandey. "The payments made in the phone tapping are allegedly proceeds of crime. There are shell companies. We want to know who was handling the entire operation," said a source. The ED's case is on the basis of the CBI's FIR.
