India denies reports about sending military to Sri Lanka

Indian High Commission in Colombo, clarifying the country stand over the issue, said that India stands with the people of Sri Lanka. "The High Commission would like to categorically deny speculative reports in sections of media and social media about India sending her troops to Sri Lanka. These reports and such views are also not in keeping with the position of the Government of India" it tweeted.
India logs 16,678 new Covid cases, 26 deaths

In the same period, 26 fatalities took the nationwide death toll to 5,25,454. Meanwhile, the active caseload has also risen to 1,30,713 cases, accounting for 0.30 per cent of the total positive cases.  The recovery of 14,629 patients in the last 24 hours took the cumulative tally to 4,29,83,162. Consequently, the recovery rate stands at 98.50 per cent.

The Economist shows distorted map of India in latest issue

Last year in June, Twitter showed a distorted map of India, with Jammu and Kashmir and Ladakh as separate countries which was later removed after a backlash. As per The Economist, Eknath Shinde, who represents a part of Thane in the state Assembly and had himself once driven an auto rickshaw for a living, was sworn in as Chief Minister of Maharashtra, of which Mumbai is the capital.
Sudhakar Dalela appointed India's envoy to Bhutan

Currently Deputy Chief of Mission at Indian Embassy in Washington DC, he has served in critical roles in New Delhi too. "Sudhakar Dalela (IFS: 1993), presently Deputy Chief of Mission in the Embassy of India, Washington, has been appointed as the next Ambassador of India to the Royal Kingdom of Bhutan," the Ministry of External Affairs statement. Dalela, who joined the Indian Foreign Service in 1993, began his diplomatic career in Israel and has since served in Indian Missions in Brasilia, Chicago, Geneva, and Washington.

Earlier this week, Razorpay received a written notice for transaction data of a specific business (Alt News) for a specific time period under Section 91 of CrPC for the Foreign Contribution (Regulation) Act, 2010 investigation. "We immediately reached out to the authorities to understand the scope and reasons for the request. A Razorpay senior leader went from Bengaluru to Delhi to speak to the authorities," Mathur said in a statement.
Amarnath Yatra temporarily suspended after 15 killed in cloudburst

Teams of NDRF, SDRF, BSF, CRPF, Army, police and ITBP resumed rescue operation with the first light on Saturday morning, officials said. Chief Medical Officer (CMO), Ganderbal district, Afroza Shah has told reporters that 15 people have died and over 40 injured in Friday's flash flood triggered by the cloudburst. She said five people were rescued alive from the debris of the flash flood.
