The central probe agency had scanned last three years' transactions of Singhal to check the suspicious money trail if any.

Navy gets new ALH squadron to enhance surveillance on east coast

Indian Naval Air Squadron 324, comprising indigenously-designed and built Advanced Light Helicopters (ALH) MK-III (MR), was commissioned into the service on Monday in presence of Eastern Naval Command, Vice Admiral Biswajit Dasgupta at INS Dega, Visakhapatnam, a defence statement said. Addressing the gathering, Vice Admiral Dasgupta stated that the commissioning of the first ALH MK III Squadron in the command will enhance the surveillance capability on the eastern seaboard.

Assam Floods: Over 22.17 lakh marooned, toll rises to 174

The officials of the Assam State Disaster Management Authority (ASDMA) said that since April, 156 people lost their lives in pre-monsoon and monsoon floods while 18 others died in landslides in different districts of Assam. They said that over 50,714 hectares crop area is still inundated in 1,934 villages in 27 districts while the flood situation is deteriorating due to incessant rains in the state. Over 2.77 lakh men, women and children took shelter in 404 relief camps with the district administrations setting up relief and distribution centres in the flood-hit districts.
