AAP frontrunner to form govt in Punjab

According to the Exit Poll projections, AAP is likely to win 51-61 seats in the 117-member Punjab Assembly. The magic figure to form the government is 59. Punjab's principal Opposition party AAP is likely to wrest power from the incumbent Congress, which, according to the Exit Poll, is likely to win 25 seats. The third spot is expected to be secured by the Shiromani Akali Dal (SAD), which is projected to win 23 seats.
BJP projected to retain power in UP with 236 seats

The ruling BJP is set to retain power in the crucial state of Uttar Pradesh with a tally of 236 seats, as per the ABP C-Voter Exit Poll. However, the BJP will return to power with a reduced margin in the 403-member UP Assembly, with a loss of 89 seats after winning 325 seats in 2017.The Samajwadi Party will put up an impressive show and is likely to get 140 seats, up 92 from its previous tally of 48 seats, but far short to challenge the Yogi Adityanath-led BJP in Uttar Pradesh.
Exit polls give BJP slight edge in Goa; CM circumspect

While the BJP had gone into the elections with its slogan '22 plus in 2022', Sawant said that even if the party is stuck at 17-18 seats, it would seek help from Independent MLAs to form government. The ABP C-Voter Exit Poll has predicted between 13 and 17 seats for the BJP, and between 12 and 16 seats for the Congress. The AAP is projected to win 1-5 seats.
54.76% voting in final phase of UP Assembly polls

This is the least voter turnout amongst all other phases for the 403 seats of the Uttar Pradesh Assembly. The district wise polling percentage is Azamgarh 53.23 per cent, Bhadohi 54.26 per cent, Chandauli 61.16 per cent, Ghazipur 54.77 per cent, Jaunpur 53.55 per cent, Mau 57.02 per cent, Mirzapur 54.93 per cent, Sonbhadra 56.95 per cent, and Varanasi 52.79 per cent, the EC data showed.

In a phone call on Monday, Prime Minister Narendra Modithanked Ukrainian President Volodymyr Zelensky for extending support in the evacuation of Indian nationals from the war-torn nation, government sources here said. This was Modi's second interaction with the Ukrainian leader since Russia began its military assault on Kiev on February 24. The first conversation took place on February 26.
Modi also likely to speak with Putin on Monday

Prime Minister Narendra Modi is likely to speak to Russian President Vladimir Putin on Monday shortly after his phone call with Ukrainian President Volodymyr Zelensky as Moscow's war on Kiev entered the 12th day, government sources said here. According to the sources, Modi is likely to seek the Russian President's support for a safe passage to evacuate Indian nationals, mostly students, currently stranded in the Ukrainian cities of Sumy, Odessa, Kharkiv and Mariupol.
BSF shoots down Pak drone carrying contraband in Punjab's Ferozpur

The Border Security Force (BSF) on Monday said that its alert troops shot down a drone which came from the Pakistan side in Punjab's Ferozepur sector. According to the BSF officials, the forward deployed troopers heard the humming sound of a suspicious flying object around 0255 hours coming from the Pakistani side to India side in the Ferozepur sector.
One killed, 34 injured in Srinagar grenade attack

One person was killed and 34 others, including a policeman, injured in a grenade attack in J&K's Srinagar city on Sunday, police said Police said militants hurled a grenade in Hari Singh High Street market area adjacent to city centre Lal Chowk, and the explosion led to many being injured.
