PM exhorts students to combine career and country's goals
Prime Minister Narendra Modi on Sunday urged students to combine their career and country's goals and find lasting solutions for local problems to spur the country's progress. Modi said whatever field a student is pursuing, he/she must have some goals for the country on the same lines as they set for their personal career.
2,135 Indian nationals evacuated on Sunday, taking total to 16K
Under 'Operation Ganga', 2,135 Indian citizens returned back home on Sunday through 11 special civilian flights from Ukraine's neighbouring countries.Among the special civilian flights on Sunday, nine landed in New Delhi while two in Mumbai. There were six flights from Budapest, two from Bucharest, two from Rzeszow and one from Kosice. With Sunday's evacuation, nearly 16,000 Indians have been evacuated since the special flights began on February 22.

The Indian Embassy in Ukraine on Sunday asked its stranded nationals in the war-torn country to fill up a registration form containing their location and several other important information that might help in their evacuation.
PM Modi inaugurates Pune Metro, takes a ride with students
Prime Minister Narendra Modi inaugurated a 12-km stretch of the upcoming 32.20-kms long Pune Metro Rail project, here on Sunday morning. The PM bought a ticket from the ticketing counter, walked into the Garware Station and along with a group of school students took a ride on the Metro train to the Anandnagar Station. The Pune Metro is coming up at a cost of over Rs 11,400-crore and is aimed at providing world-class urban mobility infrastructure for Pune.
5 BSF personnel dead in fratricidal firing close to Indo-Pak border
The shooter, identified as constable Satteppa SK, was among those who died in the incident. Officials said the incident was reported at the barracks of the 114 Battalion in Khasa, some 20 km from the Attari-Wagah border. Sateppa, hailing from Karnataka, allegedly fired at five of his colleagues before shooting himself.
IAF evacuates 210 more Indians who had fled from war-torn Ukraine
The Indian Air Force has evacuated 210 more Indian nationals who were stranded in the crisis-hit Ukraine. Eleven more special flights are expected to operate on Sunday from Budapest, Kosice, Rzeszow and Bucharest, to bring in more than 2,200 Indians back home. The Ministry of Civil Aviation had earlier informed that under 'Operation Ganga', about 3,000 Indians were airlifted on Saturday by 15 special flights from Ukraine's neighboring countries.
Corruption is termite, root cause of all problems: Allahabad HC
The Lucknow bench of the Allahabad High Court, while refusing anticipatory bail to a government doctor, observed that corruption was a termite in every system and once it entered the system, it went on increasing. Dr Rajeev Gupta had filed the anticipatory bail application on behalf of his wife Dr Sunita Gupta, former senior divisional medical officer (DMO), Northern Railway, Charbagh, Lucknow. She was working with the radiology department.
Proud of maturity displayed by Indian students: Indian envoy to Ukraine
India's Ambassador to Ukraine Partha Satpathy on Saturday said that Indian nationals in the war torn Ukraine, especially students, have displayed "maturity" and "fortitude" amidst these turbulent times. He said that over the one past week, the Indian Embassy has evacuated more than 10,000 Indian students from Ukraine, also in the case of Kharkiv, despite it being an active war zone with heavy shelling, the embassy has maintained "consistent and constant" efforts to evacuate every citizen.
No Indian left in Kharkiv: MEA
"From Pisochyn & Kharkiv, we should be able to clear out everyone in the next few hours, so far I know no one is left in Kharkhiv," MEA Spokesperson Arindam Bagchi said in a media briefing. He said that now the main focus is on the Sumy region. In nearby Pisochyn, Bagchi said, as of a few hours ago there were less than 300 students there who were to be evacuated.
6,222 Indian nationals evacuated from Romania, Moldova: Scindia
Sharing an update on the status of evacuation of Indian nationals from neighbouring countries of war-struck Ukraine, Scindia tweeted, "Evacuated 6,222 Indians in the last 7 days from Romania and Moldova... 1,050 students to be sent home in the next 2 days". In the same tweet, Scindia said that India got a new airport to operate flights in Suceava, 50 km from border, instead of transporting students to Bucharest which is 500 km from border.
