The IANS-CVoter poll makes it clear that the farm laws and the politics around it will play a key role in the forthcoming elections. A clear majority of 55.1 per cent of the respondents were convinced there will be an impact on the elections, while just 30.8 per cent feel there will be no impact.

The pictures take us through the multiple locations of the attacks -- Taj Mahal Palace & Hotel, Chhatrapati Shivaji Terminus (CST), Trident Nariman Point, Leopold Cafe, Nariman House (better known as the Jewish Chabad House) and Cama Hospital. Explosions also rocked the Mazagon docks and took place in a taxi at Vile Parle. The three days were marked by the bravery of NSG commandos, who rescued 300 people from the Taj, 250 from the Trident and 60 people (members of 12 different families) from Nariman House.

Survey: More than half say Modi took right decision in repealing farm laws

More than 52 per cent of the respondents said the Prime Minister had taken the right decision. This is to be expected since some analysts claim that the farm laws were bad to begin with and their repeal would surely be welcome.
RSS chalks out massive expansion plan in West Bengal

As a part of the new organisational module the Rashtriya Swayamsevak Sangh (RSS) has decided to recruit nearly 1000 whole-timers in the party. "In the rural areas where there is a panchayat system one whole-timer or 'Pracharak' will be recruited in each Gram Panchayat (Mandal). In the municipal and corporation areas there will be one whole-timer in each ward," RSS spokesperson Biplab Roy said.
Farm laws will be brought back: Rajasthan Governor Kalraj Mishra

Reacting to Friday's announcement of Prime Minister Narendra Modi to repeal of the farm laws, Kalraj Mishra said: "The government tried to explain to farmers the pros of farm laws. But they were adamant about repeal. The government felt that it should be taken back and re-drafted later if needed but right now they should repeal as farmers are demanding." BJP MP Sakshi Maharaj, meanwhile, said that the "bills (farm laws) have got nothing to do with polls.
BJP confident of regaining lost ground in UP after rollback of farm laws

The BJP is elated that this major issue that has changed political alignments in western Uttar Pradesh, in particular, has been neutralised by the Prime Minister. Legislators bore the brunt of farmers' anger in the region since the past several months when their agitation was underway. The party asked all its elected representatives to reach out to farmers and explain the advantages of the laws, but BJP ministers and legislators were rudely turned away from several villages and the local farmers were not even willing to talk to them on the issue.
Demand to repeal CAA gains ground in UP

BSP MP from Amroha, Kunwar Danish Ali, has called for the repeal of the CAA "without further delay". "Repealing 3 Farm Laws is a welcome move. I congratulate farmers for their will power to fight, sacrifice and defeat the mighty state power and their crony capitalist friends. Prime Minister Modi must also reconsider and repeal CAA 'without further delay'," he tweeted. Jamiat president Maulana Arshad Madani welcomed the announcement of withdrawal of the three farm laws and lauded the farmers for their "success".
Air quality in Delhi 'very poor'

The System of Air Quality and Weather Forecasting And Research (SAFAR) said the Air Quality Index (AQI) in the national capital was 324 for PM10 and 200 for PM2.5. As PM10 went over 300, the Department has issued a health advisory asking people with heart or lung disease, older adults, and children to reduce prolonged or heavy exertion. The PM2.5 level was found to be under the 'very poor' category.
India logs 10,488 new Covid cases, 313 deaths

The nationwide death toll currently stands at 4,65,662. The recovery of 12,329 patients in the last 24 hours has increased the cumulative tally to 3,39,22,037. Consequently, India's recovery rate stands at 98.30 per cent, the highest since March 2020. The active caseload stands at 1,22,714. Active cases presently constitute 0.36 per cent of the country's total positive cases, the lowest since March 2020.
