Increased Chinese air force presence at LAC not of 'much concern': IAF chief
Addressing the annual press conference ahead of Air Force Day (October 8), Air Chief Marshal Chaudhari said that the Chinese PLAAF has increased its presence at three airfields across the Line of Actual Control. "China is developing airfields with multiple aircraft but flying from high altitude is a weak area," he said.
BJP makes clean sweep in Gandhinagar Municipal Corporation polls
The BJP scored over arch-rival Congress, bagging 41 ward seats out of the total 44 seats. Two seats were claimed by Congress with the Aam Aadmi Party (AAP) debuting in the political arena here with one seat. The GMC saw approximately 56 per cent polling in eleven wards of the state's capital. This was higher than in the last elections held in 2016, which was 52.02 per cent.
Priyanka still in custody after 28 hours, tweets to Modi
Priyanka Gandhi Vadra was taken into police custody early on Monday morning in the Hargaon area in Sitapur while she was on her way to Lakhimpur Kheri to meet families of the deceased farmers. "Modi ji, your government has detained me for 28 hours without any order or FIR. But those who crushed farmers have not yet been arrested. Why?" she tweeted in Hindi.

Controversy erupts over Mamata's oath taking ceremony

UP Police ADG assures strict action against Lakhimpur rioters
Prashant Kumar, Uttar Pradesh Police's Additional Director General (ADG) (Law and Order), while speaking to IANS on the Lakhimpur Kheri violence said, "We spoke to the farmer organisations and several other people and clarified that the Uttar Pradesh government has already expressed regret over the violence. The state government has assured that all culprits involved in the incident won't be spared. Strict action will be taken against those found guilty in this connection."
