Oka said: "The compromise cannot be taken to be a solitary basis until the other aggravating and mitigating factors also support and are favourable to the accused for moulding the sentence which always has to be examined in the facts and circumstances of the case on hand." The court's stand came as it dismissed a plea filed by Bhagwan Narayan Gaikwad challenging the Bombay High Court's order
Delhi reports zero death for 2nd consecutive day, 20 new cases
With 28 people recovering from Covid infection, the number of recoveries was more than the numbers of new cases reported in the city. With this, the total recovery from Covid in the national capital has jumped to 14,13,053. There was one death each on September 16 and 17 respectively. The Covid fatality in the national capital stands at 25,085, according to the health bulletin. Covid fatalities in Delhi had crossed the 25,000 mark on July 6, and after that, a total 85 deaths were registered in the city. The cumulative Covid fatality rate in the city was at 1.74 per cent.

NGT slaps Rs 1 cr fine on Maharashtra, summons top official

Self-styled militant commander held in Delhi
According to DCP Pramod Khushwaha of the special cell, the militant identified as Mangkholam Kipgen was arrested from Dwarka in the national capital. The police said Kipgen was wanted in various cases of kidnapping for ransom, arms snatching, firing, extortion and robbery registered in various police stations of Manipur.

"The Transport department, Government of NCT of Delhi, in its ongoing efforts to control pollution and improve air quality in Delhi, requests all motor vehicle owners in the city to ply their vehicles only with valid PUC certificate," said a notice issued by the Delhi Transport department on Sunday.
