After a brief halt at Atrauli, it will reach Dibai where the last rites will take place around 3 p.m." Chandrapal Singh, a close aide of late leader, said: "He always chose Atrauli over Dibai, but maintained that Aligarh is his 'Janambhoomi' while Bulandshahr his 'karambhoomi'. Therefore, he is being cremated in Dibai."
'Covaxin for children may get DGCI nod before trial period'

The administration of two doses of vaccination has been completed among children and blood samples have been sent for the third time to check the effectiveness in terms of producing antibodies among children, sources told IANS. A total of 90 children were subjected to Covaxin trials in Karnataka.

Delhi recorded its highest one-day rain for August (139 mm) in at least 13 years on Saturday, resulting in heavy water logging in many parts of the city and traffic snarls. The IMD had issued a yellow alert for the national capital on Sunday and had predicted bad weather for the day.

Sukhwinder Singh who works in the US embassy in Kabul says chaos like situation prevails in Kabul's streets and all are in a hurry to leave Afghanistan. He said he was evacuated on the night of August 14 with the intervention of an Indian Embassy official when the situation started worsening. He said he had been living in Doha since then. "Most of the people trapped there were evacuated," he added.

Heavy rainfall leads to waterlogging, traffic jams in Delhi

The relative humidity recorded at 8.30 a.m. was 92 per cent. In the last 24 hours, the city received 9.2 mm rainfall, they said. The waterlogging was reported from the usual areas like Pragati Maidan, ITO, Kashmiri Gate and Minto Bridge and others in the city, so were traffic snarls. The traffic movement was interrupted for a while.
