Shashi Tharoor praises Modi Government for 'terrific' CoWin platform

Shashi Tharoor stated on Twitter, "I've always acknowledged and praised the government when it merits it. As a critic of Cowin, let me say they’ve done something terrific. Send a @WhatsApp message "download certificate" to 90131 51515, receive OTP and get your vaccination certificate back by @WhatsApp. Simple&fast!" . It is to be noted that this is not the first time that Tharoor has praised PM Modi.

Senior Congress politician Shashi Tharoor on Monday complimented the Modi government for its CoWIN platform, saying it has done a fantastic job. Citizens can register for their Covid immunisation using the CoWIN site. The portal includes information such as the number of vaccination centres near you, the vaccinations they have, their availability, the amount of doses left, and the opportunity to obtain the certificate once the individual has been vaccinated.

It is to be noted that this is not the first time that Tharoor has praised PM Modi. Last week, Modi praised Olympics bronze medal winning Indian Hockey team’s Goalkeeper PR Sreejesh in a tweet. Tharoor took this opportunity to say few words in praise of the prime minister.

PM Modi's post, as mentioned in tharoor’s tweet, served as a reminder to people that those who defend the country's interests are just as essential as those who "score goals against others."

Responding to the tweet, Mr Tharoor, 65, said the prime minister's appreciation for PR Sreejesh had gladdened the heart of every Keralite.

PR Sreejesh was born in the Kerala district of Ernakulam. The goalie and former captain of the Indian men's hockey team made a critical save in the final seconds of the match on Thursday, securing India a gold.

Meanwhile, to make the process of obtaining a vaccine certificate easier, Union Health Minister Mansukh Mandaviya said on Sunday that individuals would now be able to obtain their Covid-19 immunisation certificates in seconds via WhatsApp.

International travellers can also connect their immunisation certificates to their passports via CoWIN, the country's Covid-19 vaccination portal. Not only that, but if there is a mismatch in your personal data, you may also amend it on CoWIN.
