Angelina Jolie will soon be parting ways with her famous home in Los Angeles, as, with her family, she gets prepared to move abroad. Jolie bought this stunning home in 2017 for $24.5 million, living in it for some time, primarily because of a custody agreement with her ex-husband, Brad Pitt. Since their twins, Knox and Vivienne, turn 18 next year, Jolie is looking to move on and start anew.
A source close to the development told PEOPLE, “Angelina Jolie never wanted to live in L.A. full time. She didn't have a choice because of the custody arrangement with Brad."
"She plans to relocate as soon as Knox and Viv turn 18 next year. She's eyeing several locations abroad. She'll be very happy when she's able to leave Los Angeles," added the source.
Angelina Jolie's estate in Los Angeles measures a sizeable 11,000 square feet. The opulent mansion has six bedrooms, ten bathrooms, and a sprawling yard. Four fireplaces, a spacious wine cellar, a cute tea house, views of the Griffith Observatory, and a pool with lovely cascading fountains are some of the amazing features of the property.
Angelina Jolie was living at this house during the pandemic, with her children. Earlier this year, she welcomed friends who were displaced from their homes due to the local wildfires, and allowed them to stay in her house while they were trying to find a new home.
This unique estate has great history, having belonged to director, Cecil B. DeMille who purchased the home in 1916 for less than $28000. Just up the road is where Charlie Chaplin lived in a neighboring home and when Chaplin moved out, DeMille combined the two properties into the legendary estate as it is known today.
