In his speech at Aizawl, he emphasized that "during 'Operation Sindoor', India's armed forces taught a lesson to terrorists and the whole world saw the country's armed forces' power and 'Made in India' weapons to assist in safeguarding the nation."

India is the fastest growing economy in the world, PM Modi reiterated. “We are also seeing the growth of Make In India and exports. During ‘Operation Sindoor’, you all saw how our soldiers taught a lesson to those who sponsor terror. The whole nation was filled with a sense of pride about our armed forces.

“In this operation, Made-In-India weapons played a significant role in protecting our country. The growth of our economy and manufacturing sector is very important for our national security,” the Prime Minister said.

While addressing thousands at the historic Kangla Fort in Imphal, Modi fondly remembered Manipur's contribution to national defense, recognising that infinite men and women from the state still serve in uniform across the country.

He remembered that in 'Operation Sindoor', Indian troops had inflicted such crushing blows that the Pakistani forces were "left overwhelmed," and underlined that Manipur's sons and daughters were part of that achievement.

The Prime Minister remembered Shaheed Deepak Chingkham, praising his courage and asserting, "Deepak Chingkham's sacrifice during 'Operation Sindoor' would always be remembered by the nation."

In unprovoked cross-border firing along the RS Pura sector of Jammu, Chingkham, aged 25 and belonging to the 7th Battalion of the Border Security Force, received fatal injuries on May 10, as per a previous government announcement. He died on May 11 due to his injuries.

Both Chingkham and Squadron Leader Rizwan Malik, who belong to Manipur, were conferred the Vir Chakra on the night before Independence Day for their outstanding performances during 'Operation Sindoor'. The state government of Manipur has decided to grant a cash award of ₹10 lakh each to Malik and the next of kin of martyr Deepak Chingkham.
