Uttar Pradesh Cabinet Minister and Suheldev Bharatiya Samaj Party (SBSP) leader Om Prakash Rajbhar on Thursday launched a blistering attack on Samajwadi Party (SP) leader Akhilesh Yadav, calling his much-hyped PDA formula nothing but "Parivar, Dimple, and Akhilesh."
At reply to Akhilesh Yadav's Twitter post — "Na chalegi haqmaari, na matmaari, is baar PDA sarkar hamari" — Rajbhar also blamed the SP for never being thoroughly committed towards empowering backward classes, Dalits, or women.
"Even in Assembly sessions, Pooja Pal was only asking for justice for the killers of her husband, but the SP has thrown her out. This is proof of the party being anti-backward and anti-women. PDA is Parivar, Dimple, and Akhilesh. If Akhilesh gives a speech about PDA, then let him first show he has given Muslims representation, who constitute 20 per cent of the state population. Let him announce that he will appoint a Muslim as the Chief Minister," Rajbhar said to IANS.
He also mocked Akhilesh for participating in Rahul Gandhi’s Vote Adhikar Yatra, claiming it would have “no impact.” Rajbhar added, “In Bihar, NDA will form the government. Congress has a history of vote fraud since the days of Ambedkar in 1952. In Banaras, Rampur, everywhere, they manipulated results. SP is walking the same path.”
Rajbhar also supported the Centre's decision to rename Jalalabad in Shahjahanpur district as Parashurampuri, terming it a welcome initiative.
In the meantime, Uttar Pradesh Minister Jayveer Singh immensely supported Home Minister Amit Shah's newly tabled anti-graft bills, terming them a historic move to usher in "cleanliness" in politics.
Singh hailed the three bills — the Constitution (130th Amendment) Bill, the Government of Union Territories (Amendment) Bill, and the amendment to the J&K Reorganisation Act — that suggest disqualification of Prime Ministers, Chief Ministers, or Ministers on serious charges and jailed for over 30 days.
"These bills will usher in the cleanliness of politics and convey a decisive message throughout the country that criminals cannot be leaders. The government has itself sent them to a Joint Parliamentary Committee (JPC), which consists of opposition members also. After thorough deliberations, the next course of action will be followed," Singh told IANS.
On renaming Jalalabad, Singh concurred with Rajbhar, calling it a move to "erase symbols of slavery." Singh also denied charges of electoral misconduct by Rahul Gandhi, stating: "This is nothing but a reiteration of the false narrative in the Lok Sabha elections. The Election Commission is acting with complete credibility, and people should not be deceived."
