Tej Pratap Yadav Reveals Name and Symbol of His Party

The ex-RJD leader had initially declared the establishment of his political outfit on September 13.

Rashtriya Janata Dal (RJD) chief Lalu Prasad Yadav's elder son, Tej Pratap Yadav, Friday stated that his new party, 'Janshakti Janata Dal,' will contest the coming Bihar assembly polls on the election symbol 'black board.'

The ex-RJD leader had initially declared the establishment of his political outfit on September 13.

Bihar elections will be held later this year, although the dates have not been officially declared by the Election Commission of India (ECI).

Tej Pratap was suspended from the RJD for six years on May 25 for allegedly indulging in "irresponsible behavior" and against family values. The opposition leader also posted the party's poster on his official X handle.

We are completely committed and prepared for the overall upliftment of Bihar. Our mission is to introduce a new system by making a total transformation in Bihar. We are prepared to wage a long battle for the overall upliftment of Bihar," Tej Pratap posted on X.

The icons included on the party poster are Mahatma Gandhi, B.R. Ambedkar, Ram Manohar Lohia, Jayaprakash Narayan, and Karpoori Thakur.

"By bringing a total change in Bihar, we want to establish a new system. We are ready to work for a long period for the development of Bihar as a whole," Tej Pratap emphasized amidst his followers.

Earlier, on August 5, Tej Pratap Yadav announced that he was forming a five-party alliance of small parties to fight the assembly elections in Bihar.

The five coalition parties are Vikas Vanchit Insaan Party (VVIP), Bhojpuriya Jan Morcha (BJM), Pragatisheel Janta Party (PJP), Wajib Adhikar Party (WAP), and Sanyukt Kisan Vikas Party (SKVP).

Lalu Prasad Yadav had ousted his elder son from the RJD on May 25, snapping family links and saying that Tej Pratap's "irresponsible behaviour" did not match "our family values and tradition."
