Two males who were suspected of causing a commotion were taken away by the police close to Delhi Chief Minister Rekha Gupta's function in Gandhi Nagar, just days following a similar security breach.

A video posted by ANI showed security staff taking away one of the men, who was wearing a shalwar kurta. The authorities have not yet revealed why the disruption was caused. The incident took place while Gupta was addressing members of the Association of Wholesale Readymade Garments Dealers. During her address, she emphasized her administration’s focus on East Delhi, popularly known as Yamunapar.

“We will once again place Yamunapar at the forefront of Delhi’s development,” Gupta said, attributing progress such as the Delhi-Dehradun Expressway to Prime Minister Narendra Modi, and noting that it would improve the everyday lives of residents.

Showing a fighting attitude, she promised her followers, "Your chief minister Didi will not be scared, will not tire out, will not lose. Until Delhi receives its rights, she will keep struggling with you."

The Gandhi Nagar programme ended without any further incident, although police have increased security protocols around the chief minister in view of the recent disruptions.

The increased security measures come after an attack on Gupta in the earlier part of the week. At approximately 8:15 a.m. on Wednesday, she was attacked during a Jan Sunvai at her Civil Lines camp office. Her office subsequently accused the attack as being part of a "well-planned conspiracy to murder her."

Police officials asserted the severity of the attack, stating that it might have risked her life. The suspect was a 41-year-old Sakariya Rajeshbhai Khimjibhai from Rajkot, Gujarat, who was taken into custody on the spot. Investigators revealed that he had five previous cases, including a knife attack.

The authorities also disclosed that Khimjibhai had landed in Delhi two days prior to the attack, conducted reconnaissance outside the chief minister's home and office, and was seen by CCTV cameras patrolling the area — leaving questions as to whether the act was random.

Addressing publicly for the first time since the attack, Gupta expressed her views about X as "not an attack on me, but a cowardly act on our will to serve Delhi and labour in the welfare of the public." She accepted the incident made her initially nervous but emphasized that she was getting better.

"Such attacks are never going to destroy my spirit or my dedication to public service," she stated. "I will be with you with even more fervor and determination than ever before."
