Commenting on the submission, Minister Sanghavi said that the 2030 Commonwealth Games will be of particular significance for India and the Commonwealth. "The event will celebrate a century of sporting greatness, cohesion, and shared principles in the Commonwealth, and thus the Centenary edition will be a milestone celebration," he said.

He said that India's Games will find their inspiration in the ancient idea of 'Vasudhaiva Kutumbakam,' or "the world is one family," emphasizing harmony and human bonding. The process of planning for all the visitors at the Games will also be informed by 'Atithi Devo Bhava,' or "the guest is divine."

The Commonwealth Games in Amdavad will showcase not just India’s sporting capabilities but also the values of friendship, respect, and inclusivity that define our sporting culture. As we celebrate the centenary edition, India stands ready to welcome the Commonwealth family with warmth and excellence, inspiring a new generation to dream and achieve through sport.”

The date of the bid submission on August 29 also holds symbolic significance, as it is National Sports Day in India, which is celebrated in memory of hockey icon Major Dhyan Chand. This linkage symbolizes India's sporting culture, its commitment to the youth, and its vision for generations to come.

The bid enhances India's emerging status as a major sporting destination on the world stage. Hosting the 2030 Commonwealth Games is consistent with the nation's overall objective of becoming a leading sporting nation, where major events serve as a driver for wider sports participation, development of infrastructure, and global partnerships.

If the bid succeeds, the Games will once again come back to India after twenty years. New Delhi had earlier hosted India's first Commonwealth Games and only the second Asian one after Kuala Lumpur in 1998, in 2010. India won its best ever medal total in CWG history during the 2010 edition, winning over 100 medals and claiming the second spot behind Australia.

While CWG 2010 initially had controversies relating to infrastructure, the sport itself was amongst the best, with a complete schedule of sports and lots of memorable performances.
