Tilak Varma displayed incredible grit and calmness with a flawless 69 to lead India to a historic five-wicket victory over Pakistan, securing their ninth Asia Cup title at the Dubai International Stadium on Sunday.
Walking in during a tight spot at 20/3, the left-hander stabilized the innings with a show of modest aggression. Scoring three boundaries and four monstrous sixes, Tilak's innings were remarkable for its timing and temperament. While wickets kept falling around him, he stabilized the chase and saw India past the mark with two deliveries to spare, ending a tournament that was rich in drama and intensity.
Earlier during the match, Kuldeep Yadav again led India's bowling charge, decimating Pakistan's batting lineup with a stunning four-wicket performance. His game-changing spell in the 17th over, during which he took three wickets, initiated a remarkable collapse as Pakistan collapsed from a solid 113/1 in the 13th over to 146 all out in 19.1 overs.
As the middle and lower order of Pakistan failed against India's spin quintet, a good start was made by them. Choosing adventurous air shots, one after the other, batters fell, losing nine wickets for 33 runs and giving India the advantage. Kuldeep, having given 23 runs in his first two overs, came back strongly to yield merely seven runs while claiming four wickets in his next two. He was ably supported by Jasprit Bumrah, Axar Patel, and Varun Chakaravarthy, who contributed two wickets each.

India: 150/5 in 19.4 overs (Tilak Varma 69, Shivam Dube 33; Faheem Ashraf 3/29, Shaheen Shah Afridi 1/20)
