The Sports ministry has given a green signal to the Indian cricket team for participating in Asia Cup 2025. The announcement was made by the Sports Ministry on Thursday when it unveiled a new framework overseeing international sporting interactions, especially those with Pakistan.

As per the officials, the new directive has come into effect immediately. "India's response to sports events with Pakistan is in keeping with its overall policy in dealing with that country," the Ministry's press release emphasized.

The policy also emphasized: "In so far as bilateral sporting events in each other's country are concerned, Indian teams will not be taking part in competitions in Pakistan. Nor will we allow Pakistani teams to compete in India."

Simultaneously, the guidelines also ensure that India will not hold back from multilateral tournaments. "We will not prevent Indian cricket team from playing in Asia Cup because it is multilateral," a sports ministry official reportedly said.

The source added further, "But Pakistan won't be entertained on Indian soil for bilateral competitions. But we won't prevent them from multilateral events because we will follow Olympic Charter."

If Indian athletes could go to Pakistan for any international multilateral competition in the future, asked the official carefully: "In that case, we will consider the case before arriving at a conclusion."
