Non-game apps now dominate Apple App Store for 1st time

According to Sensor Tower, spending in non-games has grown at more than twice the rate as games on App Store in the US, with a compound annual growth rate of 40 per cent since June 2014. The total revenue generated by non-game apps was higher for the quarter, reaching nearly $3.4 billion on the US App Store, compared with $3.3 billion spent on mobile games.

Facebook tests way to add up to 5 profiles via single account

While 65 per cent were unable to log in to Twitter website, 34 per cent had issues with the app, according to outage monitoring website Downdetector. Several users also faced "over capacity" error messages across Twitter web, mobile and the TweetDeck app. "Twitter went down for a few minutes and you almost has a heart attack cos not matter you try to deny it, you really love this app," posted on affected user.
Scammers using SMS forwarding apps to con bank customers in India

The phishing site collects victim's banking credentials and personal identifiable information (PII), post which an Android SMS forwarding malware is downloaded to their devices, according to AI cyber-security firm CloudSEK. "The banks should also take responsibility in raising awareness about such scams and educate their customers to prevent monetary as well as reputation loss," said Anshuman Das, Cyber Threat Researcher at CloudSEK.
Next-gen Qualcomm flagship chips to be manufactured by TSMC

Qualcomm gave the contract to manufacture the Snapdragon 8 Gen 1 chips to Samsung Foundry but an order for the upgraded version of the processor, dubbed Snapdragon 8+ Gen 1 was given to TSMC, GizmoChina reported on Thursday, citing a new report by analyst Ming-Chi Kuo. While details about the next-generation flagship smartphone processor remain unknown, the company will likely stick to the 4nm node process for the upcoming chips, which is the same used in the Snapdragon 8 Gen 1 series, the report said.
