Meta delays encrypted messages on FB, Insta to 2023

In a post in The Telegraph, Antigone Davis, Meta's head of safety, attributes the delay to concerns about user safety. "We are taking our time to get this right and we don't plan to finish the global rollout of end-to-end encryption by default across all our messaging services until sometime in 2023," Antigone Davis wrote in The Telegraph. "As a company that connects billions of people around the world and has built industry-leading technology, we're determined to protect people's private communications and keep people safe online," added.
WhatsApp working on message reaction notifications for Android users

According to GSMArena, WhatsApp has been developing the message reactions feature for a few months now, which, as evident from its name, lets users react to messages the same way they react to the posts and comments on the Facebook app. The source said that the message reaction notifications feature is "planned to be released in a future update", the report said.

Apple Music sued over track that allegedly samples original song

Apple has been accused of including a track in Apple Music that infringes on the copyright of an original song. At the same time, the copyright holder alleges that Apple profited from the track by using it in an online advert, reports AppleInsider. Charming Beats said that it owns the copyright on a song called "Anything You Synthesize". According to the company, a further track called "Caramelo" by French rapper Ninho consists of a musical component which is an unlicensed reproduction" of their work.
Ford, Rivian cancel plans to jointly develop EV: Report

The two companies initially announced the development of a joint vehicle when the automaker invested $500 million in Rivian in 2019, reports CNBC. They later said it would be for Ford's luxury Lincoln brand, before cancelling those plans last year. Ford, at the time, said the automakers would still seek other opportunities to collaborate. Those plans also have now been scrapped, according to Ford spokesman Ian Thibodeau.

According to an investigation by The Wired, some low-level employees at Amazon "were using their data privileges to snoop on the purchases of celebrities, while others were taking bribes to help shady sellers sabotage competitors' businesses, doctor Amazon's review system, and sell knock-off products to unsuspecting customers".
Ola e-scooter rides to be available in 1,000 cities by Dec 15

The test rides will be initially open only for those who have purchased or reserved the Ola S1 and S1 Pro scooters. "Amazed and proud to see the strong response to our S1 test rides!
