Uber suspended its Uber Pool car-pooling feature in March 2020 in response to the Covid-19 pandemic, but the company promised earlier this month that it planned to bring shared rides back, reports The Verge.
Google launches new features, tools to support local news

The headline feature is a carousel that shows local news in response to search queries, launching around the world in all languages. Google initially launched the feature to provide local information for Covid searches, but it has now been expanded to other topics like sports, local government and more, reports The Verge.

As per a report by WABetaInfo, the WhatsApp features tracker citing the Italian blog Aggiornamenti Lumia, WhatsApp is developing new apps for Windows users. It is said to be a Universal Windows Platform based app that has been developed from the ground up. The app will include a drawing feature that will be particularly useful for devices with touch-screen displays.
Instagram asking users to provide video selfies for account verification

The social media app is asking multiple users to take a short video selfie to verify their existing accounts, said XDA Developers. Instagram had started testing the feature last year but it eventually faced some technical issues. Meta, the parent company, is looking into the feature and it may soon use this feature to reduce the number of fake or spam accounts on the platform.
Microsoft changing back Windows 11's 'Black Screen of Death' to blue

New malware 'SharkBot' attacking banking apps on Android phones

Twitter buys Threader to help develop its 'Blue' features

By tagging Threader's profile and typing "compile," the bot will condense a series of tweets into an article-like form. As part of the announcement, Threader will shut down on December 15, but its feature set will live on as part of Twitter Blue.
