The larger plane, which is called a "big bird," is thought to have either been an Airborne Early Warning and Control (AEW&C) system or an electronic intelligence platform.
 

Addressing the Air Marshal Katre Annual Lecture in Bengaluru, the Air Force chief attributed the successful strikes to the S-400 air defense system.

"These are before and after photos of the damage we caused at Bahawalpur — JeM headquarters. There is barely any collateral damage here… the buildings around it are mostly undamaged. We had not just satellite images but also pictures from local media, which provided us with inside shots," he explained, pointing towards satellite imagery of the attacked site.

The May 7 mission, known as Op Sindoor, involved India targeting nine terror camps, incapacitating more than 100 terrorists. The attack was in response to the Pahalgam terror attack weeks before, which had killed 26 civilians.
