Health Ministry issues revised guidelines for home isolation, warns against Remdesivir use
The decision to administer Remdesivir or use any other investigational therapy must be taken by a medical professional and the drug must be administered only in a hospital setting, said the 'Revised guidelines for home isolation of mild/asymptomatic Covid-19 cases' issued by the Union Health Ministry on Thursday.

Army opening hospitals for people wherever possible, force chief tells PM
After visiting the forward locations in Siachen and eastern Ladakh on Wednesday, Naravane met Prime Minister Narendra Modi on Thursday to brief him on the various initiatives taken by the Army to help in Covid management. The Army chief informed the Prime Minister that medical staff of the force are being made available to various state governments. Delhi hospitals still running out of oxygen
Hospitals in the national capital continue to face shortage of oxygen, with the Sehgal Neo Hospitals and Rosewood Hospitals now raising alarm over their depleting stocks. In a series of tweets, Sehgal Neo Hospital said: "We need Oxygen. One hour of oxygen left for 70 out of 150 patients on O2 support. Latest govt orders removed our old vendor Seth (LMO tank) and assigned Paramount (only cylinder) who can't supply capacity we need."

Yogi govt extends UP lockdown by a day
Weekend lockdowns were earlier imposed from Friday 8 p.m. to Monday 7 a.m. to curb the spread of the virus. The state government has extended the weekend lockdown to include Monday. The lockdown will now remain in force in the state from Friday 8 p.m. to Tuesday 7 a.m., said a government spokesman.
Nepal govt gives nod to CoDS Rawat's visit
A Cabinet meeting this week has decided to clear Rawat's visit, Nepal's Information and Communication Minister, Parbat Gurung said, adding that the concerned diplomatic and military channels will fix and arrange the visit. Since the Covid pandemic has hit Nepal and restrictions have been imposed in several cities, it is difficult to say when the visit will happen, said officials.
Cumulative vaccination coverage crosses 15cr mark
The cumulative vaccination in the country has crossed the 15 crore mark, said Union Health and Family Welfare Ministry in a statement on Thursday. As per the provisional report till 7 a.m. on Thursday, 15,00,20,648 vaccine doses have been administered through 22,07,065 sessions.
Rajasthan CM Ashok Gehlot tests positive for Covid
In a tweet on Thursday, Gehlot said, "After undergoing the Covid-19 test, I have been tested positive today. However, there are no symptoms and I am fine. As per the Covid protocols, I will continue to work under isolation."
