Cabinet approves transfer of 10 In-orbit Communication Satellites

The Union Cabinet chaired by Prime Minister Narendra Modi has approved the transfer. The Union Cabinet has also approved increasing the authorised share capital of the NSIL from Rs 1,000 crore to Rs 7,500 crore. Transfer of these assets to the NSIL will further provide the desired financial autonomy to the company to realise capital intensive programmes/ projects and thereby offering huge employment potential and technology spin-off to other sectors of the economy.

A vacation bench comprising Justices M.R. Shah and Aniruddha Bose told the MCC counsel, "Even if the single course has remained vacant.It's your duty to see that they don't remain vacant." The bench got irked to learn that 1,456 seats have remained vacant in medical colleges in the 2021-22 session. It said the MCC and Centre are playing with the life of students by not conducting a mop up round of counselling for students.
India records nearly 41% jump in new Covid cases

A total of 5,233 fresh cases was recorded in a span of 24 hours as against 3,714 reported on the previous day, the Union Health Ministry said on Wednesday morning. In the same period, the country has reported 7 Covid deaths, taking the nationwide death toll to 5,24,715. Meanwhile, the active caseload of the country has also risen to 28,857 cases, accounting for 0.07 per cent of the country's total positive cases.

India records 3,714 fresh Covid cases, 7 deaths

In the same period, the country registered seven Covid deaths, taking the nationwide death toll to 5,24,708. Meanwhile, the active caseload has risen to 26,976 cases, accounting for 0.06 per cent of the country's total positive cases. The recovery of 2,513 patients in the same time span took the cumulative tally to 4,26,33,365. Consequently, recovery rate stands at 98.72 per cent.
Delhi police probing death threats issued to Nupur Sharma

The country is facing major diplomatic outrage from several Middle East nations after BJP spokespersons -- Nupur Sharma and Naveen Kumar Jindal -- recently made derogatory references to Prophet Muhammad. "A complaint has been lodged by Nupur Sharma against various persons for issuing death threats to her," Delhi Police spokesperson Suman Nalwa said.

The DAC accorded fresh AoNs for procurement of rough terrain forklift trucks (RTFLTs), bridge laying tanks (BLTs), wheeled armoured fighting vehicles (Wh AFVs) with anti-tank guided missiles (ATGMs) and weapon-locating radars (WLRs), through domestic sources with emphasis on indigenous design and development for the Indian Army.
Intermediate range ballistic missile Agni-4 successfully tested

The Agni-IV ballistic missile with a range of 4,000 km was successfully tested on Monday. The missile was testfired at 7:30 pm from the APJ Abdul Kalam Island in Odisha. "A successful training launch of an Intermediate Range Ballistic Missile, Agni-4, was carried out at approximately 19:30 hours on June 6 from the APJ Abdul Kalam Island, Odisha," the Defence Ministry said in a statement.
