Narasimha, said taking in view of complexity of the issues involved in the suit and the sensitivity, the suit before Civil Judge, Senior Division, Varanasi should be tried before a senior and experienced judicial officer of the Uttar Pradesh Higher Judicial Service.
Infiltration bid on Jammu and Kashmir LoC foiled, one terrorist killed

The Defence sources said, "An unidentified terrorist was killed by the Army's 3/9 GR during an infiltration bid in Tangdhar sector of the LoC in Kupwara district today." Sources said the operation was still going on in the area. Further details were awaited.
'Deliberately fired upon', Supreme Court commission on encounter of gang-rape, murder accused in Hyderabad

During the hearing on Friday, a bench headed by Chief Justice N.V. Raman did not agree with a counsel's contention that the report of the commission should be kept in a sealed cover. The bench said: "This relates to the encounter case. There is nothing to keep here. The Commission has found someone guilty." It added, "We want to send the matter to the high court."
Over 60% India's teenagers fully vaccinated against Covid

"Over 60% of the youngsters between the 15-18 age group are now fully vaccinated against COVID-19. Well done Young India!", the Health Minister tweeted. He also said that "we will win the battle" against the pandemic together. As per the health ministry report, a total of 5,91,09,660 first Covid-19 vaccine doses have been administered in this age group, while 4,45,34,980 second doses have been given among this group since beginning of the drive.
'Always felt it was occupied': MEA on reports of China building 'second' bridge on Pangong Tso

MEA spokesperson Arindam Bagchi told media persons that New Delhi will continue its talks with Beijing over the deployment along the Line of Actual Control(LAC). Bagchi responded to the reports with satellite images claiming China was constructing a "larger" second bridge on the Pangong Tso. As per the reports, this bridge would facilitate faster mobilization of Chinese Army troops in case of any conflict.
India logs 2,259 new Covid cases, 20 deaths

In the same period, the country reported 20 Covid deaths, taking the nationwide death toll to 5,24,323. The active caseload of the country has marginally declined to 15,044 cases, accounting for 0.03 per cent of the country's total positive cases. The recovery of 2,614 patients in the last 24 hours took the cumulative tally to 4,25,92,455. Consequently, India's recovery rate stands at 98.75 per cent.
India warns against 'hoarding, speculation' causing 'unjustifiable' food prices
