Sindhutai Sapkal laid to rest in Pune with full state honours

Precautionary doses will be same vaccine administered before: Centre
"Precautionary Covid vaccine dose will be the same vaccine as has been given to them previously as primary dose. Those who have received Covaxin as primarily dose will receive the same as precautionary dose, and those who received Covishield as primary dose will receive Covishield now," said V.K. Paul, Member-Health, NITI Aayog, at a press briefing here on Wednesday.

According to the government's Co-WIN portal, 1,33,64,030 children have registered so far for the first dose of vaccine. Union Health Minister Mansukh Mandaviya has lauded the spirit of the youngsters for receiving the vaccine and said "superb enthusiasm among 'Young India' for vaccination". Centre issues revised isolation guidelines
As per the new guidelines, the patient under home isolation will stand discharged and end isolation after at least 7 days have passed from testing positive and no fever for 3 successive days and they shall continue wearing masks. There is no need for re-testing after the home isolation period is over. Asymptomatic contacts of infected individuals need not undergo Covid test and monitor health in home quarantine as per the new guidelines.
3rd wave in Delhi: Doctors advise people to follow Covid norms
Delhi Health Minister Satyendar Jain on Wednesday morning announced the start of a third Covid wave in the national capital, and warned the cases can jump to close to 10,000 with the infection rate nearing 10 per cent by the evening. By evening, as predicted by Jain, Delhi reported 10,665 fresh Covid-19 cases - highest since May 12 - and eight deaths, and the positivity rate also shot up to 11.88 per cent.
Air Force gives presentation to Defence Minister on CDS chopper crash inquiry report
The tragic incident happened on December 8, 2021, when a military helicopter crashed near Nilgiri hills in Tamil Nadu, costing 14 lives including Chief of Defence Staff Gen Bipin Rawat, his wife and other military personnel. Air Chief Marshal Chaudhary went to the official residence of the Defence Minister and made the presentation. A tri-service inquiry was ordered after the crash to probe the reasons of this accident.
Third Covid wave starts in Delhi, 10K cases expected
"The Covid cases can jump to close 10,000 today with the infection rate nearing 10 per cent by today evening in Delhi", said Minister Jain in a press briefing on Wednesday morning. With the rising Covid cases on daily basis, it is obvious now that the third Covid wave has started in Delhi, he added. Delhi on Tuesday had reported 5,481 fresh Covid cases, the highest single-day rise after May 16 when the tally was also 6,456.
'Bulli Bai' case: Mumbai Police makes 3rd arrest, Nepal link found
Earlier, the police had arrested one engineering student Vishal Kumar Jha and one Shweta Singh. According to the police, Shweta was the mastermind behind the controversy. She was in touch with a handle, which is being operated from Nepal. On his instructions, she made a Twitter handle with the name of @jattkhalsa07 and started uploading photos of women of a particular religion.
