The recovery of 9,481 patients in the last 24 hours has increased the cumulative tally to 3,39,98,278. Consequently, India's recovery rate stands at 98.34 per cent, highest since March 2020. The total death toll has climbed to 4,68,554. The active caseload stands at 1,05,691. Active cases presently constitute 0.31 per cent of the country's total positive cases, the lowest since March 2020.

Loans could be only alternative to run Mamata's social schemes
Financial experts are of the opinion that presently it is not difficult to run these schemes by taking loans from the market but if the government cannot improve its revenue structure in the coming years, then in the long run it would become impossible for the government to give these social benefit schemes a permanent status.

How alliances turned Congress into a nonentity in UP

Allahabad HC grants bail to Sharjeel Imam
The bail was granted by Justice Saumitra Dayal Singh of the Allahabad High Court on Saturday. A detailed order on Imam's bail is yet to be issued. Sharjeel Imam, a former JNU student and one of the key organisers of the Shaheen Bagh protest, was arrested last year from Bihar's Jehanabad. In his speech, Imam had purportedly asked protesters to cut off from India.
