Farm Laws Repeal Bill passed in Rajya Sabha too

The Bill was passed by a voice just as it was passed by the Lok Sabha two hours earlier. When the Rajya Sabha assembled at 2 p.m., the Union Agriculture Minister Narendra Singh Tomar moved the motion in the Rajya Sabha. Earlier, in the Lok Sabha, the Bill was passed amid sloganeering by opposition members.
Widespread rain/snowfall forecast for J&K between Dec 5-7

An official of the Meteorological Department (MeT) said, "A Western Disturbance (WD) is most likely to affect J&K during December 5-7. "Widespread light to moderate snowfall and rain in plains is expected during this period. "Some places on higher reaches (above 2000m) may receive heavy snow( 1-2 ft) whereas plains are likely to receive 2-3 inches of snow.

The Hindustan Times is reporting that the remaining six Rafale multi-role jets will be more advanced, coming with country-specific enhancements including long range air-to-air missiles, frequency jammers and advanced communications.

The opposition demanded a discussion on the Bill, which was passed by voice vote. The three Bills that have been repealed are: Farmers' Produce Trade and Commerce (Promotion and Facilitation) Bill, 2020, Farmers (Empowerment and Protection) Agreement on Price Assurance and Farm Services Bill, 2020 and Essential Commodities (Amendment) Bill 2020.
Cold wave intensifies in J&K, Ladakh

An official of the Meteorological Department (MeT) said due to clear night sky the minimum temperatures dropped further in J&K and Ladakh thereby intensifying the cold wave conditions. "Minimum temperature was minus 1.1 in Srinagar while it was minus 3.4 in Pahalgam and minus 2.2 degrees Celsius in Gulmarg today.
'Closer to create independent task force', SC seeks states' response on worsening Delhi air pollution

A bench headed by Chief Justice N.V. Ramana and comprising Justices D.Y. Chandrachud and Surya Kant said: "Closer to create an independent task force (as measure to curb air pollution) ...if states not taking action," The top court emphasised that directions have been issued and the authorities hope that all will be good. "But, on the ground the result is zero," noted the bench.
Daily Covid cases in India fall below 10,000 3rd day in a row

With the addition of 236 new deaths, the death toll has reached 4,68,790. On Sunday, India reported 8,774 new Covid cases and 621 deaths. And, on Saturday (November 27) 8,318 fresh cases and 465 deaths were registered in 24 hours. The recovery of 9,905 patients in the last 24 hours has increased the cumulative tally to 3,40,08,183. Consequently, India's recovery rate stands at 98.34 per cent, highest since March 2020.
Delhi-NCR wakes up to fog, very poor AQI

The India Meteorological Department (IMD) has pegged the maximum temperature at 27 degrees Celsius. This entire week, the maximum and minimum temperatures have hovered around 27 and 10 degrees celsius, respectively with foggy mornings. The relative humidity at 8.30 a.m. stood at 97 per cent. On Sunday, the relative humidity at 7.30 p.m. was recorded at 69 per cent.
Fake 'Work from Home' job syndicate fleecing people busted in Delhi

Delhi Police's newly-created Intelligence Fusion and Strategic Ops (IFSO) unit has busted a module involved in extortion and cheating gullible job aspirants in the name of providing Work From Home. The culprits, through fake job portals, used to give work targets to the victims that they were not able to meet within the stipulated time frame and were subsequently made to pay penalties for that.
Agriculture Minister's comments 'unjustified', 'illogical', says SKM

A day ahead of the government putting up the farm laws repeal bill in Parliament and a day after Tomar had said: "Centre has also accepted the unions' demand for decriminalising stubble burning by farmers," the SKM termed that claim as incorrect too. Prime Minister Narendra Modi had announced last week to repeal the three contentious farm laws.
