Wildlife parks in UP to open from Nov 15

The wildlife parks were scheduled to open from November 1 but the same was postponed due to heavy rainfall that led to water logging and damaged roads. According to forest officials, tourists, who made the bookings in the rest houses as per the initial plan, have been given the option to postpone their stay or seek refund of the amount that they have paid against the bookings.
Glad Law Minister understands hard work put in by judges: CJI

Both the Chief Justice and Law Minister addressed the Legal Services Day celebrations, organised by the National Legal Services Authority (NALSA) at Sharda University, Noida. Speaking before the CJI, Rijiju had noted: "We know what judges do, but many people don't understand the life of a judge. There are some unpalatable remarks being made on social media... when you see closely how much judges have to perform, and how much hard work they do, it's difficult for people like us to comprehend."
Mamata rejigs Cabinet; Amit Mitra retained as advisor

Mitra, who had earlier informed his inability to continue as the Finance Minister, has been made advisor to the Chief Minister with the status of full-fledged minister. Last Monday, the six-month tenure of Mitra as Finance Minister came to end after he decided not to contest in the elections. The department that is now under the direct control of the Chief Minister will get an additional Minister of State in Chandrima Bhattacharya, who will assist in handling the financial responsibilities.
Vice Admiral R. Hari Kumar to be next Indian Navy chief

Incumbent, Admiral Karambir Singh will retire from service on November 30. Born on April 12, 1962, Vice Admiral R. Hari Kumar was commissioned into the Navy's Executive Branch on January 1, 1983. During his long and distinguished service spanning nearly 39 years, he has served in a variety of command, staff, and instructional appointments. Vice Admiral Hari Kumar's sea command includes INS Nishank, missile corvette INS Kora and guided missile destroyer INS Ranvir.
Bengal post-poll violence: CBI registers one more case, arrests 3

As per the August 19 order of the High Court, the probe agency has taken over the investigation of the case related to the alleged murder of Biswajit Mahesh. This case was earlier registered at Sabang police station in Paschim Medinipur on May 5. On the night of May 4, Mahesh was allegedly attacked by the accused with an iron rod and sword. The victim has been found in a pond and was taken to Sabang Hospital where he was declared dead.
CRPF to send 5 more companies to J&K in wake of civilian killings

The five companies, to be sent in a week, will be an additional deployment apart from the 25 companies which are already on the ground in J&K. The BSF also has 25 companies deployed there. The CRPF's move came hours after salesman Ibrahim was shot dead point-blank in the Bohri Kadal area in Srinagar on Monday. He was working in a shop owned by Kashmiri Pandit Sandeep Mawa.
Speeding Audi hits over 10 people in Jodhpur; video goes viral

The video clearly shows the driver of the car losing control and ramming into some roadshide shanties, hitting people all around. After the incident, the car driver himself went to the police station where his interrogation is underway. The car was being driven by Amit Nagar, 50, from Jodhpur. While going from Pal Road towards AIIMS, Nagar suddenly lost control of the car and hit an Activa rider from behind, throwing the latter in the air.
Delhi sees zero Covid death for 18th day, 33 fresh cases

The city's death toll stands at 25,091 and the death rate stands at 1.74 per cent. The Covid infection rate in the national capital stands at 0.06 per cent. However, active cases in the city have climbed to 349, while with 26 patients recovering in the last 24 hours, the total number of recoveries is 14,14,736 so far, the health bulletin said.
96 nations agree to mutually recognise vaccination certificates with India

"Reflecting worldwide recognition of India's vaccines and vaccination process, 96 countries have agreed to mutual accept its vaccination certificates," Mansukh Mandaviya said. He added: "A total of 96 countries have also agreed to recognise Indian vaccination certificates of travellers fully vaccinated with Covishield, and other WHO approved and nationally approved vaccines."
