Over 15.6 cr unutilised vaccine doses available with states, UTs: Health Ministry

According to the Ministry, over 116 crore vaccine doses have been provided to the states and UTs so far through the Centre's free of cost channel and via direct state procurement category. A total of 23,84,096 vaccine doses have been administered under the mass vaccination drive in the last 24 hours. India's Covid-19 vaccination coverage has exceeded 108.47 crore as per provisional reports of Monday morning. This has been achieved through 1,09,98,126 sessions.

Actor and supermodel Milind Soman encourages his fans to keep animal skins out of their wardrobes. "No leather, no silk, no wool," he wrote on Instagram. "No pain caused to animals just to satisfy human vanity. If you care, this is the alternative." Soman was awarded the Best Vegan Fashion Style Icon. "The winners of PETA India's awards prove that the future of Indian fashion is vegan," says PETA India Senior Media and Celebrity Projects Coordinator Monica Chopra.

The Maharastra Minister posted a series of tweets saying Harshada Dinanath Redkar's name was listed as 'respondent and advocate' in a 2008 case registered under the Narcotic Drugs and Psychotropic Substances (NDPS) Act, in a Pune Court and he also embedded ‘proof’ of his claim. The minister further said that Harshada is the sister of Marathi actress Kranti Dinanath Redkar, the second wife of Wankhede.

India logs 11,451 new Covid cases, 266 deaths

The new fatalities increased the nationwide death toll to 4,61,057. The recovery of 13,204 patients in the same time period has increased the cumulative tally to 3,37,63,104. Consequently, India's recovery rate stands at 98.24 per cent, the highest since March 2020. Meanwhile, a total of 8,70,058 tests were conducted across the country, increasing the overall number to 61.60 crore.
4 CRPF men killed after colleague opens fire in Chhattisgarh's Sukma

Sources told IANS that the incident occurred around 3.30 a.m. at the CRPF's 50th battalion deployed in the Lingampalli village of Sukma, around 400 km from the state capital Raipur. Sources also said that at least 13 other jawans received injuries and have been admitted to a hospital

The minimum temperature for the day has been recorded at 14 Degrees Celsius and maximum at 29 Degrees Celsius, India Meteorological Department (IMD) data showed. Relative humidity at 8.30 a.m. was recorded at 85 per cent. According to the System of Air Quality and Weather Forecasting And Research (SAFAR), the severe category was because of the large influx of stubble related pollutants which appears to be due to much higher effective fire count observed than that assumed in the SAFAR model for forecasting.

Policeman killed by militants in Srinagar

Police sources said militants fired at constable Tauseef Ahmad in S.D. Colony of Batmaloo area in Srinagar district. "He was shifted to hospital in a critical condition and doctors declared him dead on arrival," a source said. The area has been cordoned off for searches, sources said.
