Swapna Suresh granted bail, walks out of jail after 14 months
She spent a year and two months in the Attakulangara Women's prison before the court granted her bail in the six cases that were filed against her. Although Swapna was granted bail earlier on November 2 in the UAPA case, the release was delayed due to the official formalities.

India's overall Covid-19 vaccination coverage has exceeded 108 crore as per provisional report. A total of 20,75,942 vaccine doses have been administered in the last 24 hours, said the ministry. In a tweet, the Health Ministry said, "India marches ahead with another achievement in its fight against Covid 19. Total 108 cr Covid vaccine doses administered".
India, France to strengthen maritime security; discuss Afghanistan

"The fire broke out around 10 a.m. today. Of the 17 patients undergoing treatment in the ICU ward, 10 have died and the rest are injured," District Collector Dr Rajendra B. Bhosale told mediapersons. He said the victims' bodies have been sent for autopsy to determine the exact causes of their death and further procedures will be followed thereafter.
India logs 10,929 fresh Covid cases
Also in the last 24 hours, a total of 392 fresh fatalities were recorded which increased the nationwide death toll to 4,60,265. The recovery of 12,509 patients in the last 24 hours has increased the cumulative tally to 3,37,37,468. Presently, India's recovery rate stands at 98.23 per cent, the highest since March 2020.
Air quality in Delhi-NCR a notch better
According to the India Meteorological Department (IMD), there was shallow to moderate fog in the morning while during the day, while the sky will remain partly cloudy during the day. The IMD said that strong winds at a speed of 25 to 30 km per hour will also prevail during the day.
Delhi-NCR's PM 2.5 concentration on Diwali night hits 800-1,700 range
"Hazardous category of PM 2.5 was observed on November 4, the Diwali night. All observing stations of Delhi Pollution Control Committee (DPCC) and Central Pollution Control Board (CPCB) have shown the range of PM 2.5 from about 800 to 1,700 micrograms per metre cube during 8 p.m. on Thursday to 5 a.m. on Friday, peaking around after midnight," an analysis by researchers from Delhi University said.
Delhi-NCR air quality will only improve after Saturday
According to the SAFAR, at 6 p.m. in Delhi, PM2.5 was 435 micrograms per cubic meter. By Saturday morning, its magnitude may decline but values will remain at the edge of very poor and severe, System of Air Quality and Weather Forecasting and Research (SAFAR) said. The contribution of biomass burning in PM2.5 concentration is likely to increase to approximately 25 per cent on November 6 as winds are favourable for transportation of pollutants.
Sameer Wankhede deboarded from cruise ship case probe
However, questioned by media persons, Wankhede denied that he had been shifted from the case. Maharashtra Minister Nawab Malik said that Wankhede has been removed from a total of five cases, including the Cordelia Cruise case. "This is just the beginning. A lot more has to be done to clean this system and we will do it," he asserted, adding that there are a total 26 cases that need to be probed.
Congress still not able to resolve issues between Sidhu & Channi
Sidhu has been pushing for appointment of new advocate General. Sidhu has now withdrawn his resignation after Congress high command intervened on the issue, but has not resumed work. He said he would resume work in office the day a new Advocate General is appointed and the panel on the new DGP is received. Sidhu said: "Posts do not matter when you are on the path of truth".
