Defence Ministy spokesman, Lt Col Devender Anand said: "In an ongoing counter-terrorist operation in general area Nar Khas Forest, Mendhar Sub Division, District Poonch, there has been exchange of fire between army troops and terrorists during evening hours... "During the ensuing exchange of fire, one JCO and one soldier have been critically injured. The operations are under progress. Update follows."
Delhi records 28 fresh Covid cases, no death in four days
The city's death toll stands at 25,089, and the death rate at 1.74 per cent. Delhi has recorded two deaths due to the infection in October so far. The Covid infection rate in the national capital has declined to 0.05 per cent. The active cases tally in the city has also registerd a decline and stands at 337.
Monsoon withdrawal not yet complete, says IMD
The commencement of withdrawal of the southwest monsoon had started on October 6, against the normal date of September 17. Unlike the process of onset of monsoon, which is very slow, the withdrawal of monsoon need not be that slow, the India Meteorological Department (IMD) had said. Generally, the complete withdrawal of the southwest monsoon happens by October 12 or maximum by October 15.
