Delhi logs 26 fresh Covid cases, infection rate drops to 0.04%

The Covid infection rate in the national capital has declined to 0.04 per cent. The active cases in the city have also registered a decline and stands at 327 now. With 36 patients recovering in the last 24 hours, the total number of recoveries have reached 14,13,921 so far, the health bulletin said.
India says Global Hunger Report 'devoid of ground reality'

The Global Hunger Index (GHI) 2021 published by the Irish aid agency has ranked India at 101 out of 116 countries, terming the level of hunger in India as "alarming". Neighbouring countries Pakistan, Bangladesh and Nepal have fared better than India. In 2020, India was ranked 94th out of 107 countries.

A police spokesperson said that on Friday, the police in Kundli got information that Nihangs had tied a person to a barricade with his hand chopped off near the protest site. It is being alleged that the man was caught while desecrating the Sikh religious holy book. However, an official confirmation about this is still awaited.

It is been reported that he was staying with the same group of Nihangs for some time."
Singhu border murder: No info on perpetrators, says police

"We received the information about the incident at around 5 a.m. in the morning that a man was found dead near the stage of farmers' protest site after which a team of cops was rushed to spot," Haryana Police said. He said they tried speaking to the protesters present on the site but none told them anything.
Body with severed hand, tied to police barricade found at Singhu border

The body was found near the staging area of the anti-farm law protest site where the farmers have been demonstrating against the three farm laws for over 10 months now. An image that has been doing the rounds on social media shows the body having several marks and spots, an obvious indication of being beaten up or lynched by a mob before being murdered.

Farmers to hold up rail traffic for 6 hours on Oct 18

The minister has been accused of criminal conspiracy by farmers and his son has been arrested after being booked for killing four farmers and a journalist. "Farmers will block railway tracks for six hours as a protest between 10 a.m. and 4 p.m. on Monday," the Bhartiya Kisan Union (BKU) spokesperson Rakesh Tikait said at a private event in Aligarh on Thursday.
