The swoops -- on the unnamed entities and individuals -- started on September 23 and are continuing on 25 residential and 15 official premises, besides permanent suites booked in Hotel Oberoi in Mumbai. While the ITD did not name any persons/entities, Maharashtra Deputy Chief Minister Ajit Pawar on Thursday morning confirmed that the tax sleuths had raided premises linked with him and his three sisters in Pune and Kolhapur.
Delhi logs 44 new Covid cases, infection rate at 0.07%

The city's death toll continues to be at 25,088, and the death rate at 1.74 per cent. Delhi has recorded only one death due to the coronavirus infection in October so far. The Covid infection rate in the national capital has risen to 0.07 per cent, along with the active case tally which has climbed to 383. With 15 patients recovering in the last 24 hours, the total recoveries rose to 14,13,626 so far, the health bulletin said.
NCB raid of cruise ship throws up more questions than answers

The NCB has so far arrested 18 persons in the drugs case, including, Hindi mega-star Shah Rukh Khan's son Aryan Khan who has been now sent to 14 days of judicial custody. But even as the case is progressing further, there are several layers, when unearthed, raise eyebrows. The first thing which comes into the mind is how was the contraband taken to the luxury ship? The NCB had said that during the raid, it recovered various popular party drugs like Cocaine, MDMA, Ecstasy, Mephedrone and Charas.

No quarantine for Covishield vaccinated Indians travelling to UK from Oct 11

Ellis tweeted, "No quarantine for Indian travellers to United Kingdom fully vaccinated with Covishield or other UK-approved vaccine from October 11. Thanks to Indian government for close cooperation over last month." The UK travel advisory had made 10-day quarantine mandatory for Indian travellers, who have received both doses of Covishield manufactured by the Serum Institute of India (SII).
India to grant tourist visa to foreigners coming by chartered flights from Oct 15

The ministry said that all due protocols and norms relating to Covid-19, as notified by the Union Health Ministry from time to time, shall be adhered to by the foreign tourists, the carriers bringing them to India and all other stakeholders at the landing stations. With this, the restrictions placed on visa and international travel stand further eased given the present overall Covid situation.
