Yogi's image against Kolkata flyover sparks criticism

The advertisement "Transforming Uttar Pradesh Under Yogi Adityanath" carried on Sunday in an English language publication has a cut-out of Mr Adityanath with a flyover that resembles Kolkata's "Maa flyover" that connects the central part of the city with Salt Lake and Rajarhat located in the northeastern fringes of the city. The image also has Kolkata's iconic yellow taxi and a high rise that resembles a five-star hotel in the city next to the Maa Flyover.
Bhupendra Patel is new Gujarat Chief Minister

Senior BJP leader Bhupendra Patel was on Sunday elected the new Gujarat Chief Minister, replacing Vijay Rupani, who abruptly resigned on Saturday. The MLA from Ahmedabad's Ghatlodia, Patel was earlier Chairman of the Ahmedabad Urban Development Authority. Rupani, who on Saturday tendered his resignation, sought to dispel speculations about the reasons.

India sees dip in daily Covid infections, active cases also down

With 338 deaths reported in the last 24 hours, India's Covid fatality has risen to 4,42,655. The fatality rate was reported at 1.33 per cent, according to the Union Health Ministry's report on Sunday. In the last 24 hours, a total of 34,848 Covid-infected patients recovered, pushing the country's total recovery numbers to 3,24,09,345. As per the data, the Covid recovery rate rose to 97.51 per cent.
Will give Muslims viable option in Delhi like Hyderabad: AIMIM

Imphal, 4th capital city in NE, to come on railway map within 27 months

NFR Chief Public Relations Officer Guneet Kaur said that the NFR organisation is executing the Jiribam-Imphal new broad gauge railway line project at an estimated cost of Rs 12,264.15 crore and the target date for completion of the project is December 2023. "Eight new station buildings, 11 major bridges, 134 minor bridges, four road overbridges, 12 road underbridges & a record length of over 71,066 meter of tunnelling are being constructed," she told IANS.

According to the India Meteorological Department (IMD), Safdarjung observatory in the last 24 hours recorded 41 mm rainfall, Aya Nagar witnessed a heavy rainfall of 52 mm, Lodhi Road witnessed 37.2 mm, Ridge 52 mm and Palam observatory recorded 38 mm rainfall.
TN Police conducts searches at premises of people sympathetic to LTTE cause

Drugs worth Rs 3,000 crore, five AK 47 assault rifles, and 1,000 9mm bullets were recovered from the boat that was apprehended near the Tamil Nadu coast. The searches were conducted on Friday and Saturday, sources said. It may be recalled that the Coast Guard had intercepted a Sri Lankan shipping vessel, 'Ravihansi' in the Arabian sea. The investigation had led to the arrest of Sri Lankan nationals, Suresh Raj and his accomplice Soundararajan.
