Om Birla to chair All India Presiding Officers' Conference on Sep 15
The meeting coincides with the completion of 100 years of the first conference of all India presiding officers held in Shimla. "It was on this very day that the 1st AIPOC was held in Shimla a hundred years ago. The Conference is also being organised in the backdrop of International Day of Democracy, which is celebrated on September 15 every year," the Lok Sabha secretariat said here.

Light showers likely to continue in Delhi
The city has been witnessing light to moderate rain for the last four days. The IMD's data showed that in the last 24 hours, 4 mm rainfall was recorded at Aya Nagar, 3.6 mm at Lodhi Road and at Safdarjung 4 mm. On Sunday, the city received 41.1 mm rainfall, while the previous day a record rainfall was witnessed at 94.7 mm. According to IMD's forecast, the national capital is likely to witness heavy rainfall between Wednesday to Thursday, and light showers are predicted on Saturday.

Granting a decree of divorce on the husband's plea, the top court noted the wife resorted to mental cruelty - insulting the husband at his work place, filing complaints to ensure he loses his job, and continuing legal proceedings against him. A bench of Justices Sanjay Kishan Kaul and Hrishikesh Roy noted the conduct of the wife shows disintegration of marital unity and thus, disintegration of the marriage.
AIIMS Delhi treated 12,094 patients per day in 2019-20: Annual report
The total number of the outpatients, including casualties, stood at 44,14,490 for the year 2019-20. As per the annual report, India's leading health institute saw about 6 lakh more patients as compared to 2018-19. In 2019-20, more than 2.5 lakh patients were admitted to the hospital for treatment, an increase of over 13,000 as compared to the previous year.
3 dead, over 19 lakh affected by heavy rains in Odisha
According to a report prepared by the office of the Special Relief Commissioner (SRC), over 19.53 lakh people in 2,789 villages of 11 districts have been affected by the incessant downpour. The 11 districts are Kalahandi, Kandhamal, Koraput, Cuttack, Jajpur, Puri, Jagatsinghpur, Kendrapara, Dhenkanal, Khordha and Angul. The government said that it has evacuated 3,819 persons from low lying areas in five affected districts while 265 houses have been damaged in nine of the affected districts.
