Maoists killed 74, terrorists gunned down 28 in 2020: NCRB

According to the data, out of the 74 cases of murder by the Maoists, 62 were reported from Chhattisgarh. Similarly, out of the 41 registered cases of loot by the Maoists in 2020, 39 were reported from Chhattisgarh. A total of 533 cases were registered against Maoists in eight states in 2020, including 296 in Chhattisgarh, 133 in Jharkhand, and 32 in Maharashtra.
V-P, PM and LS Speaker jointly launch Sansad TV

Sansad TV was launched after merging the Lok Sabha TV and the Rajya Sabha TV channels. Talking about the centrality of content at the event, the Prime Minister said that while it is said that 'content is king', in his experience, 'content is connect'. Covaxin may get WHO approval by month-end, says NITI Aayog

Sputnik's single-dose vax gets DCGI nod for Phase-III trials in India

The nod comes after a recent study published in the medical journal The Lancet said that Sputnik Light showed 78.6 to 83.7 per cent efficacy against Covid-19, significantly higher than most two-shot vaccines. The Subject Expert Committee of the Central Drugs Standard Control Organisation (CDSCO) in July had refused to grant emergency-use authorisation to Sputnik-Light, ruling out the need for the conduct of the phase III trial of the Russian vaccine in the country.
EC to deploy 52 companies of central forces for Bengal bypolls

According to sources in the Chief Electoral Office of West Bengal, the Commission has decided to deploy 19 companies of central forces in Bhabanipur alone - the highest among the three constituencies that are going for the polls. Apart from that the rest of 33 companies of central forces will be divided between Jangipur and Samserganj in Murshidabad district.
Moderate to heavy rain likely in Delhi-NCR

Cong asks ticket seekers in UP to deposit Rs 11K in party account

The circular issued on September 14 by State President Ajay Kumar Lallu says, for upcoming assembly polls 2022, the party has authorised district and city presidents to collect the application and in the state, two others have been given authorization to deposit the application along with the fees. The money along with the application has to be deposited till September 25.
