Steep gradient, heavy rains led to waterlogging at T3 of IGI airport: DIAL
"Delhi has been witnessing record-breaking rains since last evening. This morning, due to extremely high downpour, the forecourt of Terminal 3 of Delhi Airport saw some waterlogging, which was cleared within a few minutes," a DIAL spokesperson said. According to the spokesperson, this drainage system from T3 to the Najafgarh drain requires widening.
Delhi records wettest September as rain breaks record of 121 yrs
"380.2 mm in September 2021 so far is second highest in 121 years and highest after 1944, in last 77 years for the month of September only," data from Safadrjung Observatory shared by India Meteorological Department (IMD) on Saturday said. The top five highest rainfall for the month of September in total include -- "417.3 mm, 380.2 mm, 360.9 mm, 359.2 mm and 341.9 mm in 1944, 2021, 1914, 1945 and 1933 respectively," IMD said.
India, Australia junk China terming QUAD as Asian NATO

'Replacing Rupani might help BJP beat anti-incumbency'
Rupani on Saturday resigned from the office. A section in the party believes that the decision to replace the chief minister might help the party beat anti-incumbency against the government among its own cadre. While there is no clarity at what exactly led to Rupani's resignation, saffron party sources said that there are many reasons for removal of Rupani and there was strong resentment against him among party cadre.

ED serves notice to Abhishek Banerjee, third in this month
Earlier on September 6, Banerjee appeared before the ED officials and he was interrogated for nine hours. The next day again he was asked to come to the office but Banerjee replied that it was impossible for him to appear because of his pre-scheduled political programs. The central agency again served a notice asking him to appear on September 21.
India, Sudan navies carry out maritime drill in Red Sea
Indian Naval Ship Tabar undertook a maritime partnership exercise with ships of the Sudanese Navy on September 10. Two Sudanese Navy ships, Almazz and Nimer, participated in this maiden exercise with the Indian Navy. The exercise involved multiple activities covering a wide range of naval operations. These included co-ordinated maneuvering, replenishment at sea drills, helo operations, operations for interdicting suspect vessels.
Over 70% Indian agri-households possess a hectare or less land
As many as 35.6 per cent agricultural households possessed between 0.40 and 1 Ha land, 34.2 per cent had 0.01-0.40 Ha, and 0.6 per cent less than 0.01 Ha. On the other hand, 17.7 per cent possess between 1.01-2.0 hectares, 8.6 per cent 2.01-4, and 2.8 per cent 4.01-10 hectares. For non-agricultural households, a whopping 69 per cent possessed land between 0.01-0.40 Ha, followed by 26.8 per cent having less than 0.01 Ha.
Gujarat CM Rupani resigns ahead of the end of term
Vijay Rupani took the state's Chief Ministerial position on August 7, 2016, and is representing Rajkot West in the Gujarat Legislative Assembly. It is learnt from sources that the party will declare Rupani's replacement by Sunday. Most likely his replacement could be deputy chief minister Nitin Patel.
Political furore erupts as Sakinaka rape victim succumbs
The 30-year-old woman, who was raped and brutalized with rod, succumbed to her injuries following excessive bleeding at a civic hospital, triggering a furore among political parties. "It's a tragic end. She had suffered very severe internal injuries and has passed away," Shiv Sena MLC Dr Manisha Kayande told IANS.
