Terrorist killed in encounter in J&K's Budgam

Earlier, the firefight between terrorists and security forces took place after a joint team of the police and the army cordoned off the area and launched a search operation on the basis of specific information about presence of terrorists.
India to carry out military drill with China and Pakistan
As part of the SCO initiative, the Peace Mission Exercise is conducted for member states. Peace Mission-2021 is an anti-terrorist command and staff exercise of member countries. More than 3,000 soldiers are expected to participate in the drill. The Indian Army will be conducting air reconnaissance and protecting facilities during the joint drills with the Chinese People's Liberation Army and the Pakistan Army.
NIA takes over probe into propagation of Jihadi terrorism by Bangladeshi nationals
The case was earlier registered in West Bengal's Kolkata on July 10 this year under several sections of the IPC and Foreigners Act. The official said that the case relates to Bangladeshi nationals S.K. Shabbir, Joseph and others, who had illegally entered India and were sympathisers or members of terrorist organisations.

ED summons Mehbooba Mufti's mother on Aug 18
A summon issued by ED Assistant Director Sunil Kumar Meena has asked her to be present for questioning before the investigating officer on August 18. Gulshan Nazir was earlier also summoned by the ED twice in July, but had refused to respond to those summons. Sources said she had sought details of the FIR in which she was accused, but the ED had not responded to her request.

Surprisingly, the photo of former Rajasthan Chief Minister and BJP leader Vasundhara Raje, who was present on the dais, was missing from the banner put up behind the stage.
Assam, Meghalaya CMs set up committees to resolve border disputes
In their second meeting on the issue, Assam's Himanta Biswa Sarma and his Meghalaya counterpart Conrad K. Sangma said that three separate committees for three disputed regions would be formed on each side under cabinet ministers. Sangma said that the committees, which would also comprise senior officials, would focus on five aspects.
India, China pull out troops from friction point Gogra in Ladakh
The Indian Army said that both the countries have ceased forward deployments in this area in a phased, coordinated and verified manner. "The disengagement process was carried out over two days, i.e., August 4 and 5. The troops of both sides are now in their respective permanent bases," the Indian Army said in a statement. "As an outcome of the meeting, both sides agreed on disengagement in the area of Gogra," the Indian Army said.
