14 Indian tiger reserves get global accreditation
Manas, Kaziranga, and Oran (Assam), Satpura, Panna, and Kanha (Madhya Pradesh), Dudhwa (Uttar Pradesh), Pench (Maharashtra), Sunderbans (West Bengal), Valmiki Nagar (Bihar), Parambikulam (Kerala), Mudumalai and Annamalai (Tamil Nadu) and Bandipur (Karnataka) tiger reserves received the accreditation.However, more popular tiger resorts such as Corbett, and Ranthambore do not feature on the list.

India's nuclear power capacity to touch 22,480 MW by 2031
According to the central government one more atomic power plant with 700 MW (Unit 3 at Kakrapar Atomic Power Project (KAPP), Gujarat) was connected to the grid in January this year. When the third unit at KAPP starts commercial generation then the total atomic power generation capacity will go up to 7,480 MW.

India reports 43K new Covid cases, 640 deaths
On Tuesday, India had registered 29,689 new Covid-19 cases, less than the 30,000-mark in 132 days, and 415 deaths. The total number of deaths has reached 4,22,662 as per the government data and the number of active cases once again crossed the four lakh-mark with 4,03,840 active cases. According to the government, 38,465 people were discharged from hospitals and health centres in the last 24 hours, taking the total number of cured to 3,07,01,612
MPs meet PM Modi on reservation for OBCs in NEET

Porn case: Mumbai Magistrate declines bail to Raj Kundra
Accordingly, Kundra, a British national who was arrested by the Mumbai Police on July 19, will remain in judicial custody till August 10, as ordered by the magistrate court on Tuesday. Kundra, through senior advocate Abad Ponda, had filed a separate petition in the Bombay High Court challenging his arrest, which he contended was 'illegal', and appealed to quash all the orders.
