Operators found violating these guidelines will be liable for prosecution under the relevant provisions of law," the official statement said.

UP Covid recovery rate goes up to 99%

As active and fresh Covid infections have declined to zero in the eight districts of Aligarh, Balrampur, Hathras, Basti, Mahoba, Shravasti, Etah and Fatehpur, Uttar Pradesh is now moving fast towards being coronavirus-free. The eight districts have given a major boost to the state's fight against the virus. Out of the 2,50,406 samples tested in the past 24 hours, only 43 tested positive.
India records 39,361 new Covid cases, 416 deaths

The country now has 4,11,189 active cases and has witnessed a total of 4,20,967 deaths so far. According to the government, a total of 35,968 people were discharged from hospitals and health centres in the last 24 hours, taking the total number of cured to 3,05,79,106 till date as the virus continued to infect less than one lakh people over the last 48 days.

Nine tourists killed in Himachal Pradesh landslide

The tourists were on the way from Sangla to Chitkul, a popular tourist spot some 250 km from Shimla, when the boulders fell on their vehicle, killing nine on the spot. A video of the disaster showing massive boulders sliding off the hilltop and damaging a bailey bridge and a portion of the highway has gone viral.
Flood-scarred Maharashtra's toll zooms to 149, 2.29 lakhs evacuated

In what is billed as the biggest flood rescue operations in the state in decades, over 2.29 lakh people have been evacuated to safer areas after their homes were submerged in floodwaters, in some places up to 20 feet high. As many as 50 people were injured and are undergoing treatment at various hospitals in Raigad, Ratnagiri, Sindhudurg, Sangli, Satara, and Kolhapur.
