Use of drones suspected in Jammu Air Force blasts: J&K Police sources
There were two bomb blasts at the station on Sunday morning which security agencies suspect were carried out by using drones. The J&K Police have registered an FIR and an investigation is on. The Police are also working on the blasts along with other agencies. Meanwhile, a major terror attack was averted with the recovery of an Improvised Explosive Device (IED) in Jammu.
High alert at Pathankot airbase after Jammu Air Force Station blasts
Security was stepped up, particularly in border districts of Pathankot and Gurdaspur, including near Indian Air Force base in Pathankot that saw the terror attack on January 2, 2016, as well as nearby Mamoon Cantonment of the Indian Army, officials told IANS. India's international border with Pakistan falls in both the districts adjoining Jammu and Kashmir.
NIA team reaches Jammu Air Force Station
It is yet to be established whether drones were used to drop low intensity bombs at the Air Force station. Meanwhile, Additional Director General Police (ADG) Jammu, Mukesh Singh told reporters that the police have arrested a militant near a mall in the jurisdiction of the Trikuta Nagar police station from whose possession an IED weighing 5 Kgs has been recovered.

This movement was founded by Muhammad Ibn Abd al-Wahhab in the 18th century in Najd, Central Asia. The Saudi royal family adopted this sect in 1744. The sect is today prevalent in Saudi Arabia and Qatar. Wahhabis call themselves 'Salfis' (Followers of pious forebears). The followers of this sect firmly believe that anybody who goes to the shrines of Sufis and Saints is practising 'Shirk' (Associate anything with Allah).

Mayawati rules out alliance with AIMIM
In a series of tweets on Sunday, she ruled out reports that the BSP would join hands with Asaduddin Owaisi's AIMIM in Uttar Pradesh. "This news is being circulated that the AIMIM and BSP will fight the upcoming assembly elections in UP together. This news is completely false, misleading and baseless. There is not even an iota of truth in this, and BSP vehemently denies it," she said.

Centre says efforts for foreign vaccines are being made at highest level
The Centre in a 380-page affidavit in the top court said in order to further increase vaccine availability and incentivizing the foreign manufacturers, the regulatory process for use of foreign vaccines within India has been accelerated and simplified. The Centre contended that the vaccination drive will get a boost if it succeeds in its attempts to procure vaccines available outside India.
India adds 50K new Covid cases, 1,258 deaths in 24 hours
The total caseload rose to 3,02,33,183 as India crossed the mark of over three crore Covid cases on Wednesday. This is the tenth consecutive day in the last two months when the death toll has been below the 2,000-mark. India has become the second country after the US to record more than three crore cases of Covid. India added one crore cases in the last 50 days.
