Mamata files fresh plea in Calcutta HC in Narada sting tape case
The Calcutta High Court on June 9 had refused to accept the reply-affidavits of Mamata Banerjee and Moloy Ghatak. The court was urged by Solicitor General Tushar Mehta that the affidavits cannot be accepted on the ground of delay as they were filed after the completion of his arguments. The next hearing in the case is scheduled for June 29.
India always ready to give befitting reply if provoked: Rajnath
During his address to the officers and jawans of the Indian Army's 14 Corps at Karu Military Station in Ladakh, Singh stated that India is a peace-loving nation that never resorts to any kind of aggression, but at the same time, it is always prepared to give a befitting reply if provoked. He reiterated the government's stand of resolving disputes through dialogue with neighbouring countries.
India reorients around 50K troops at border with China
Sources said that the Mathura-based 1 strike Corp, earlier tasked to cross the western borders into Pakistan, has been reoriented from its position to disputed border areas with China. In addition to this, in the Central Sector - the least disputed portion of the border running along with Himachal Pradesh, Uttarakhand to Nepal, deployment has also been strengthened with at least division level troops.

Agni-Prime: India successfully tests new generation of nuke missile
The tests were held off the coast of Odisha at 10:55 AM. The Defence Research and Development Organisation (DRDO) labelled these Agni-Prime missiles as the newer generation of the Agni lineage of missiles. The Defence agency said that Agni-P will provide flexibility in transportation and mobility to the armed forces.

India overtakes US in Covid vaccination
India has so far administered Covid vaccine doses to 32,36,63,297 people while the number of people inoculated so far in the US are 32,33,27,328. If compared to the timeline, India's Covid vaccination drive started on January 16 this year almost one month after the similar exercise was started by the US on December 14 last year.

According to statisticians, the official death count of 3,90,000 falls far short of the pandemic's actual toll, the report said.
The University of Washington's Institute for Health Metrics and Evaluation believes the true death toll in India may exceed 1.1 million, almost three times the reported number.
Red Fort violence case: Gurjot Singh arrested from Punjab
A Special Cell official said that the police arrested Gurjot Singh from Amritsar in Punjab.The official said that Singh was wanted in connection with the Red Fort Flag hoisting case. On January 26, during the farmers protest several people had clashed with the police while many entered the Red fort and had also hoisted a flag there.

He attached a news report that claimed 'the government has revised the list and cut down the production expectations to 135 crore doses from five Covid-19 vaccines in an affidavit filed before the Supreme Court on June 26'.
