Meta shuts Pak hackers targeting Indian officials via honey trapping, malware
Apart from India, the group of hackers in Pakistan -- known in the security industry as APT36 -- targeted people in Afghanistan, Pakistan, the UAE and Saudi Arabia, according to Meta's quarterly 'Adversarial Threat Report'. "Our investigation connected this activity to state-linked actors in Pakistan," Meta said.
Twitter expands 'Location Spotlight' tool to all businesses globally

WhatsApp to allow group admins to delete messages for everyone
According to WABetaInfo, the WhatsApp is rolling out a new update through the Google Play Beta Program, bringing the version up to 2.22.17.12 and that will let group admins delete any message for everyone. The report mentioned that if you are a group admin and you try to delete an incoming message and you see the option "delete for everyone", it means the feature is available.
Apple now likely to launch iPadOS 16 in October
Apple has been developing a new multitasking feature for the iPad called Stage Manager, with the option designed to offer a more Mac-like multi-window multitasking experience, citing Bloomberg, MacRumors reported. The delayed launch of iPadOS 16 is said to be partly due to the implementation of Stage Manager, as Apple is still working out bugs.
5G smartphone shipments grew 163% in India, Samsung leads
"With the completion of 5G auctions, and anticipated roll-out of 5G services in India shortly, there will be further momentum in 5G smartphone shipments," said Menka Kumari, analyst- Industry Intelligence Group, CMR. 5G smartphone shipments in Rs 7,000-Rs 24,999) grew more than 160 per cent YoY, whereas overall smartphone shipments in this segment grew 12 per cent.
