Administration of Covid precaution dose for 18 plus gets underway
"Under the leadership of Prime Minister Narendra Modi, the government is taking various steps to defeat Covid. Taking one more step, administration of Covid precaution dose has started," Union Health Minister Mansukh Mandaviya posted on twitter in Hindi. Those above the age of 18 years and who have completed nine months of their second dose of vaccine are eligible for the third dose.

Covaxin prices cut to Rs 225 before booster drive begins
Bharat Biotech co-founder Suchitra Ella said that we have decided to revise the price of Covaxin in consultation with the Central government. "We welcome the decision to make available precautionary dose for all adults. In consultation with the Central Government, we have decided to revise the price of #COVAXIN from Rs 1200 to Rs 225 per dose for private hospitals," she said in a tweet.

Under the chairmanship of Rajesh Bhushan, Secretary of Ministry of Health and Family Welfare (MoHFW), an orientation meeting of health secretaries of states and union territories was held on Saturday morning over the precaution dose which will be available for all adults above 18 years from Sunday onwards. He also said that the precaution dose will be the of the same vaccine that was administered as the first and second jabs.

India reports 1,150 new Covid cases, 83 deaths
Following a continuous downward trend, India's active caseload has declined to 11,365. Active cases now constitute 0.03 per cent of the country's total positive cases. A total of 1,194 patients recovered in the last 24 hours, taking the cumulative tally to 4,25,01,196. Consequently, India's recovery rate stands at 98.76 per cent.
