India to import 100 tonne of uranium to power nuclear power plants in FY23

Replying to a question in the Lok Sabha on Wednesday, Jitendra Singh, Minister of State for Personnel, Public Grievances & Pensions and Prime Minister's Office said 100 tonne of natural uranium in the form of uranium ore concentrate is scheduled to be imported during 2022-23. He also said 133 numbers of fuel assemblies are scheduled to be imported next fiscal.

ISRO likely to launch seven satellites during current year: Govt

"ISRO has successfully launched the Earth Observation Satellite EOS-4 onboard PSLV-C52 on February 14, 2022 from Satish Dhawan Space Centre, Sriharikota, along with INS-2TD & INSPIRESat-1 as co-passengers. The satellites were injected into the polar sun synchronous orbit at 524.84 kms altitude," Union Science and Technology Minister Jitendra Singh told the Lok Sabha in a written reply.

Light Combat Helicopter Limited Series Production (LSP) is an indigenously designed, developed and manufactured state-of-the-art modern combat helicopter containing approximately 45 per cent indigenous content by value which will progressively increase to more than 55 per cent for SP Version.
Surface-to-air missile system for Army successfully hits aerial targets: DRDO

The flight tests were carried out at the Integrated Test Range, Chandipur off the coast of Odisha. The launches were carried out establishing the accuracy and reliability of the weapon system against targets, covering sea-skimming and high-altitude functionality within the envelope. Performance of all weapon system components including missiles, weapon system radars, and command posts have been validated during these trials.
India's active Covid caseload falls below 15,000 after 707 days

In a significant development, India's active Covid-19 caseload has declined to 14,704 after 707 days, the Union Ministry of Health and Family Welfare on Wednesday. The active cases now constitute 0.03 per cent of the country's total positive cases. The least active caseload was 14,759 on April 21, 2020. A total of 1,233 fresh Covid cases and 31 deaths were reported in the country in a span of 24 hours, said the Union Health Ministry on Wednesday.
Army chief, top military brass to review deployment along China, Pak borders

The military top brass will discuss the force preparedness at the Line of Actual Control with China and Line of Control with Pakistan. They will be there for three days and hold deliberations over various military issues amid changing geopolitical turmoil. India and China have been engaged in a border dispute for around almost two years and talks are on to resolve the matter.
Indian Army equips snipers with superior Sako 0.388 TRG rifles along LoC

“The latest sniper rifles have been inducted into the army. They are using it now. These are Sako .338 TRG 42 sniper rifles,” a senior official told news agency PTI. These rifles have an improved range, firepower as well as telescopic sights than those rifles possessed by the enemy combatant, the official further said.  In 2018-2019, the incidents of sniping suddenly increased along both the International Border as well as Line of Control (LoC).
