Why can't you block objectionable content about Hindu deities, HC asks Twitter
A division bench, headed by Acting Chief Justice (ACJ) Vipin Sanghi and comprising Justice Navin Chawla, was hearing a Public Interest Litigation (PIL) filed by advocate Aditya Deshwal, who alleged that several objectionable posts were being made through a Twitter handle named the Atheist Republic and despite several complaints, Twitter has neither suspended the account nor taken down the offending content.
India logs 1,270 new Covid cases, 31 deaths
In the last 24 hours, India logged 1,270 new Covid-19 cases and 31 deaths, the Union Health Ministry said on Monday. The new fatalities increased the overall death toll to 5,21,035.. Due to a continuous downward trend, India's active caseload has further declined to 15,859, accounting for 0.04 per cent of the country's total positive cases.
Amarnath Yatra to start on June 30
After remaining suspended for two years due to the Covid pandemic, the Amarnath Yatra 2022 will start on June 30. Officials at the Raj Bhavan said this year's annual Amarnath Yatra to the holy cave shrine in Kashmir Himalayas will start on June 30 and conclude after 43 days, as per the tradition, on the day of the Raksha Bandhan festival. An Officials said this year, the Yatra would be held with all Covid protocols.
DRDO successfully flight-tests Army's surface to air missile
The Defence Research and Development Organisation (DRDO) conducted two successful flight tests of the Indian Army's version of the Medium Range Surface to Air Missile (MRSAM) on Sunday. The tests, conducted at the Integrated Test Range, Chandipur, off the coast of Odisha, were carried out as part of the live firing trials against high-speed aerial targets. The first test was to intercept a medium-altitude, long-range target and the second against a low-altitude, short-range target.

SPO killed, brother injured in terrorist attack in J&K
As per the police, SPO Ishfaq Ahmad Dar was injured in firing by militants at Chatabugh village in Budgam district on Saturday evening. He later succumbed to his injuries at the hospital. "Umar Ahmad Dar, the brother of the slain SPO, is being treated at the Bemina hospital in Srinagar. Search operations have been launched to nab the assailants," sources said.
87% crorepati ministers in Uttar Pradesh
And just five out of 45 ministers (11 per cent) are women, according to an analysis by Uttar Pradesh Election Watch and Association for Democratic Reforms released on Saturday. Amid deepening financial crisis, Jaishankar to visit SL
Proving the priority that India occupies in Sri Lanka specially at a time when the country is facing one of its worst economic crisis, India's External Affairs Minister S. Jaishankar will visit Sri Lanka on March 28 to 30. Visiting on the invitation of Sri Lanka's Foreign Affairs Minister, G.L. Peiris, Jaishankar's visit follows Finance Minister Basil Rajapaksa's visit to India early this month and last December and Minister Peiris' visit to India in February.
India's radar imaging satellite EOS-04 performing well: ISRO
Indian space agency on Saturday said the country's radar imaging satellite named earth observation satellite -04 (EOS-04) launched this February is functioning well and is healthy. According to Indian Space Research Organisation (ISRO), the EOS-04 previously named as RISAT-1A's first payload imaging was successfully completed on February 25, 2022.
Jaishankar on 5-day visit to Maldives, SL
External Affairs Minister S. Jaishankar on Saturday embarked on a five-day visit to the Maldives and Sri Lanka. In a statement, the Ministry of External Affairs said Jaishankar's visit comes after invitations were extended by his Maldivian and Sri Lankan counterparts Abdulla Shahid and G.L. Peiris, respectively.
