Chinese FM meets Doval, Jaishankar in Delhi
Just a day after his trip to Kabul, visiting Chinese Foreign Minister Wang Yi on Friday met National Security Adviser Ajit Doval and External Affairs Minister S. Jaishankar here. Wang first met Doval at the latter's office in South Block, after which he and Jaishankar proceeded to hold delegation-level talks. The Chinese Minister arrived in Delhi from Kabul around 8 p.m. on Thursday and according to sources, trade and the pending border dispute in Ladakh will feature in the talks.
Employment increased by 22% since 2013-14: Labour Minister
Responding to a question in the Rajya Sabha, he also said that as per the Periodic Labour Force Survey (PLSF), the unemployment rate among graduate-level job-seekers, between the age group of 18 to 40 years, has come down. Replying to the supplementary questions in the House, Yadav said that apart from the farm sector, other sectors such as transport, education, hospitality, education, trade, and information technology have witnessed an increase in employment.

'Pak pharma companies withholding $430,000 payment to Indian exporters'
"As per available records, India has exported $203.68 million worth of pharmaceutical products to Pakistan from April 2021-December 2021. Some instances of non-payment of dues to Indian exporters of pharmaceutical products by Pakistani importers have been brought to our notice. As per the data available, the total amount of dues unpaid to Indian exporters is around $430,000," External Affairs Minister S. Jaishankar told the Rajya Sabha in a written reply.
No plan to privatise Indian Railways, asserts Minister
There is no plan to privatise the Indian Railways, Railway Minister Ashwini Vaishnaw said on Thursday, emphasising that this assurance was made by his predecessor too. Replying to the debate in the Rajya Sabha on the working of his Ministry, he said that it is a complex organisation with a social obligation and the biggest challenge was capital investment in this sector - which was sped up after 2017 when the Rail Budget was merged with the Union Budget.
Trade, border dispute in focus as Chinese Foreign Minister lands in Delhi
Yi is scheduled to meet Foreign Minister S. Jaishankar and National Security Advisor (NSA) Ajit Doval on Friday. This is the first high-level Chinese diplomatic visit to India in over two years since the border dispute began between the two countries in Eastern Ladakh. So far, 15 rounds of military-level talks have taken place between the two sides to resolve the issue.
Yogi elected leader, BJP stakes claim to form govt in UP
BJP leaders Swatantra Dev Singh, Raghubar Das and others drove to Governor's house on Thursday evening after the legislative party meeting, where Adityanath was elected the leader. A proposal to this effect was put forward by senior BJP MLA Suresh Khanna, which was approved by all the legislators. UP Governor Anandiben Patel has invited Adityanath to form the government.

Responding to a question, he said that India has called for immediate cessation of violence and end to all hostilities. "We stand for peace, we believe that there is no other way than a return to the path of dialogue and diplomacy. We recognize that the global order is anchored on international law, UN charter and respect for territorial integrity and sovereignty of all states and we call for humanitarian access to a conflict situation."
Defence Ministry bans import of 107 strategically important sub-systems
"In continuous pursuit of self-reliance in defence manufacturing and to minimise imports by DPSUs under 'Aatmanirbhar Bharat', Ministry of Defence has approved another list of 107 strategically important Line replacement Units (LRUs)/sub-systems with a timeline beyond which there will be an embargo on their import," the ministry said in a statement.

The defence officials informed that the extended range missile hit the target accurately. “India today successfully test fired surface to surface BrahMos supersonic cruise missile in Andaman & Nicobar. Extended range missiles hit its target with pinpoint accuracy,” ANI quoted the defence officials as saying. Air chief Marshal VR Chaudhari congratulated on the successful test-firing of Brahmos, the defence officials further said.
